DOES IT WORK?: A Fire and Water Damaged Commodore Amiga A600 Motherboard
In what I must honestly describe as a poorly produced quick video, we try a Commodore Amiga A600 board that was pulled out of the fire wreckage.
This board was on the racking right next to where the fire started and subsequently sat in mouldy water for two weeks after Hampshire Fire and Rescue defeated the blaze. 300 degrees C followed by a long bath.
As I set out, I'm not expecting too much other than some easy content. Unfortunately I've had a lot of paperwork to fill out this month pertaining to a personal situtation. This, in addition to never being able to get parts delivered, has set me back with the "real fixes".

I got a VERY positive response to the last video showing recovery of a fire-damaged Colecovision cartridge. People asked for more, so here is another.
This one has a different outcome... as you might gather from the title.

In this video we look at a Commodore 64 Breadbin that has LOST it's voice. After some investigation we find the issue. We also try a modern replacement for the SID chip... a SwinSID Nano... and it SOUNDS TERRIBLE! What have I done wrong?

This video is sponsored by https://www.PCBWay.com! - Join me as we do a variety of useful modifications on the Atari 7800 PAL console. We will install a Deluxe Composite Mod kit from TheFutureWas8Bit.com as well as recapping, slot cleaning, modifying the power jack and following up with some test gameplay! We do this in a reversible way wit no cutting, drilling or board damage. The original components have been saved so they are reinstatable in the future should it be desired.
I had a few little blunders here and there and have left them in so that perhaps others can avoid making the same mistakes that I have.

In this video we take a c64 game from my childhood and make it into an instantly loading cartridge.
This game was never released in cartridge format so this board, created by C64iStanbul, uses the original PRG file, converted to a Magic Desk image using the great work of Marko Šolajić.
You can order a board here with a portion going to the board designer: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/C64_Samurai_Warrior__The_Battles_of_Usagi_Yojimbo_Game_Cartridge_PCB.html
You can learn about Marko Šolajić’s Magic Desk Project here: https://github.com/msolajic/c64-magic-desk-512k
Hope you enjoy the video!
