There is a lot of excitement with ChatGPT, the large language model chat bot with debates starting about whether it can replace humans in certain jobs ... for example teachers.
In this video, I ask ChatGPT to create some lecture materials and react live to it as it creates its output.
It turns out that while it is good for certain qualitative descriptions, it makes mistakes in some fundamental formulae.
Overall very impressive. But I don't think it is anywhere close to being used as a replacement for teachers?

Should parents be completely involved with their children once they are in college? Or, should they leave them to grow up completely independently?
These questions are especially important as students across the country are preparing to leave for their first year in college.
In this video, I discuss these important questions. And make an appeal to the parents.
These have long-term consequences for the student's immediate and long-term career and progress.
The points I put forward are based on what I had seen myself when I was an undergraduate student at IIT Kharagpur and also as a faculty members over the past few years at IIT Kharagpur.
My hope is that this video will be found useful not only by the first year students and their parents but also by those in second year, third year, and beyond.
