My wife and I took a trip in Northern Virginia in varying intensities of rain with Tesla FSD Beta v10.3.1, we saw quite a few different conditions from bad drivers, bad roads, to construction, and more. Let's compare it with the performance of 10.2 in the rain. Remember this car isn't fully autonomous, it is performing under my supervision the whole time. I did have to take over a few times and there were showstoppers such as turning into the oncoming lane so that was a regression, there were quite a few maneuvers you wouldn’t want to see in the final product but since I was there ready to take over, they were non-issues. The car did re-route around traffic for each leg of the trip, which was great because it gave us more time using the FSD Beta 10.3.1 (Tesla Update 2021.36.5.3) instead of Navigate on Autopilot. Braking performance was generally smooth but there were spots where the machine was a bit heavy on both regen and friction, the software continues to improve, I liked the rural segment of this drive, this tech will be improving faster than we can comprehend and I can't wait to review FSD Beta 11! The car did try to center itself across the entire lane for one section of construction, it handled an aggressive driving pickup truck well, while there were a few spots where I hovered my foot over the brake. There was one segment where fsdbeta raked the wheel hard right and left quite a few times, but the system sorted itself out. We didn't get any time with FSD Beta 10.3 because I downgraded from that version on a Sunday Let's Chat Livestream unfortunately. As we saw in the previous rain video my Model X's new wipers did a wonderful job, they were a bit noisy, I can only imagine what it would sound like if we used windshield coatings like the manual specifies not to. Using this version of Tesla FSD Beta 10.3.1 in the rain, wasn't the greatest compared with its daytime and nighttime dry performance, 10.2 was much more comfortable in the wet. The first Navigate on Autopilot segment was sped to 10x, the second segment was trimmed entirely. After a recent software update we were signed out of Tesla theater and started getting messages about having an insecure browser, so we attempted to use the browser to log back in like we had to do once before on another version and failed. Next, we tried the Plex Login trick to logon to my Google account this resulted in several freeze-ups of the MCU so we gave up on that at the third scroll-wheel reset and switched to trying RuneScape 2021, this let us log in using Google account to sign in to RuneScape, but it didn't transfer over to the Tesla Theater app. Reddit user u/T0DDTHGOD suggested I try it from inside the YouTube app, so I show here going through two videos trying to get a link to RuneScape, the second video got us where we were trying to go here's the link, so you don't have to go through all that: RuneScape Link: https://rs.game/RuneScapeMobile (click this from the YouTube app in your car to get to where I was in the video) After trying to create an account we got an error about too many sign-ins from the IP of the Tesla VPN, but we just went back and tried again and got the are you human tester from Google where I identified the bridges and signed in. Today received Tesla Software Update 2021.4.2 and 2021.4.3 the next afternoon, these Tesla Firmware updates say they contain bug fixes and improvements. Later we'll do a deep dive video to see what's hiding under the hood.
