One of the best camp grounds but very windy and cold, located four miles from Mexico. The perfect campground to stay at if you are going to the Pink Store in , Paloma Mexico. Lots of history about Pancho Villa's raid into the United States.

Patagonia Lake State Park is our favorite winter campsite. Water and electricity at each site, convenient dump site, general store, and visitor center provide all your needs. Cold nights but warm sunny days make for a great place to vacation. Resturants are a few miles away in the community of Patagonia. Being so close to the Mexican border makes for some great food.

A great RV park about four miles from Mexico. great place to camp if your doing a day trip into Mexico to visit the Pink Store in Paloma Mexico. They great you with a margarita when you first enter the store. They have all the typical Mexican Items like pottery, statues, panchos, tequila, vanilla, and a great restaurant. If you buy a bunch of souvenirs, they load you up in a pink golf cart and drive you back across the border.

After we left the Alamo we walked across the street to an entrance to the River Walk. This has to be the most unique use of a flood control channel. We only covered a small part of the walk. We had lunch while we were there, I had the fish and chips, it was very good and was a very generous portion. If your in the San Antonia area I highly recommend spending some time at the River Walk.

Jeff and Ralph fishing
One of our favorite camping and fishing spots. We go two times each year. The first trip is the second week in July. This is a great time to bring the kids as the weather is nice and warm. There are thunder storms and rain showers almost every afternoon about 3 pm. The fishing is pretty easy because the river is planted with nice size rainbow trout every week. The other trip is the last week that the campground is open, usually the last week in October. The bigger lake trout are in the river this time of year. They swim up stream to spawn. most parts of the river are catch and release or artificial fly's or lures only during this part of the season. Some parts of the Owens river is open to fishing year around.

One of the best winter getaway camp grounds in Arizona. The lake is stocked with fish. The bird watching trail is a great walk, a ranger does a guided walk Monday through Friday at 9:00 AM. Boats are available to rent. There is a store and visitors center with camping supplies and souvenirs. The small but quaint town of Patagonia is located 7 miles away were there is a post office, restaurant and store and several churches.
