Subsonic vs. Supersonic Ammo Suppressed Shooting
Trying to capture the audio difference between supersonic & subsonic ammo in 9mm and .22 LR when shooting with a suppressor / silencer. It makes a huge difference!
I've seen a lot of folks buy a 5.56 (AR-15) suppressor for their first can, and it's almost always a huge disappointment. Sure, it's quieter than without, but it's still so loud that it's uncomfortable to shoot without ear protection. That sonic boom is loud! This is why subsonic calibers are ideal for use with suppressors. Doesn't really matter what. If it's subsonic, it can be quiet. If it's supersonic, even if you silence the gunshot 100%, it's still going to sound like a gunshot thanks to the bullet's sonic boom shockwave...
