Explore the lower floors of the ship Cid is developing and you’ll encounter Queen Karnak, who appears to be a fake and summons a Liquid Flame. In its body form, the Liquid Flame will create a towering inferno that strikes your entire team. If it rushes with a charge, it will strike without fail, bypassing any defenses by armor and shields. It its hand form, the Liquid Flame will cast a ray of light that could paralyze the target and a stage 2 fire spell. In its tornado form, the Liquid Flame can deal a critical hit while attacking physically and spell magnetism that switches your fighters to different positions. The area is pitch-dark, and cannons will release Bob-ombs. After a Bob-omb explodes, it will provide a brief flash, allowing you to navigate the area. There are pipes facing sideways that shoot big cannonballs. If the room turns dark again, just stop and wait for the next explosion to get a brief view of where to go. After you made your way through, enter the pipe and defeat a Fire Bro to receive a Star from a treasure box.

The first room has Thwimps and spikes maces spinning. If you fly with the Cape Feather at the start, you’ll find a secret room via pipe to a room where you can try for extra lives. If you choose the standard path, climb an escalator to find the door. The next room has Thwomps and Dull Bones. Go through the next door and you’ll enter the tower with moving walls. Some spots have Dull Bones and coins so time your movements to infiltrate the tower. Once you reach the top, go through the big red door to battle Morton Koopa, Jr. Morton will walk on the walls and plummet to the turf when you’re below him. After stomping him, the walls will close in and he will go faster. After stomping Morton 3 times, you’ll save the 2nd of the 7 Yoshi eggs.

Veilstone City’s gym has walls that block paths and you can push the walls to make the paths easier to go through. After navigating through the movable walls, you’ll battle the gym leader. Maylene uses Fighting type Pokémon. Meditite will sometimes use Detect to avoid damage for a turn then use Confusion to confuse targets. Even if you possess Flying types, Machoke can always use Rock Tomb that lowers the target’s Speed stat. Lucario will be the hard part as it will use Force Palm to paralyze targets and Metal Claw to sometimes raise its Attack stat. After the battle, you’ll receive the Cobble Badge and a TM60 (Drain Punch). Drain Punch restores the user’s HP by half the damage the target took.

The gym of Snowpoint City has icy floors that make you skate. Battle some trainers and destroy the snowballs as you skate along. Solve the puzzle and you’ll battle the gym leader. Candice uses Ice type Pokémon. When Abomasnow is sent out, its Snow Warning ability will summon hail that lasts until another weather effect replaces. Abomasnow will use Water Pulse to confuse targets and Focus Blast against those who have an advantage against it. Sneasel will use Faint Attack and Aerial Ace to deliver never-miss strikes. Piloswine will bring back the Hail if a weather effect replaced it before and use Stone Edge for critical hits. Froslass will be the toughest opponent as it can be hard to hit in hail due to its Snow Cloak ability, and furthermore, it will use Double Team to become even harder to hit. Froslass will use Blizzard that can sometimes freeze targets, and the move is unavoidable with hail in the weather. After the battle, you’ll receive the Icicle Badge and a TM72 (Avalanche). The user moves last when using this move but if it takes damage on the same turn, Avalanche has double the power.

After hitting a P Switch, scale a set of ? Blocks and go over a pipe after navigating a set of green blocks. Run on a trail of ? Blocks and enter the pipe to a secret room. In the secret room, the Thwomps are so heavy that you’ll briefly be stunned after they hit the turf. There are also Grinders and stone statues in the room. Make it to the end of the room and hit the ? Block to reveal a key. Insert the key and a secret path on the map will open.

After a 20-win streak at the Battle Tower, you’ll battle Palmer. His Milotic can sometimes lead off with Hypnosis and make things even trickier by using Attract. Rhyperior knows its signature move, Rock Wrecker, which yields recharging the next turn after it strikes. Dragonite will combo with Thunder Wave and Dragon Dance. After winning, you’ll receive the Silver Print and 20 BP.

The former Battle Castle employer uses Psychic type Pokémon. In Challenge Mode, Metagross holding a Life Orb is added. Musharna has a combo using Hypnosis and Dream Eater along with Reflect to reduce damage from physical attacks for 5 turns. Sigilyph will use Air Slash to make targets flinch. Reuniclus will use Recover when in danger and Focus Blast for something dangerous against those who have an advantage. Gothitelle will use Calm Mind and use its attacks. Metagross will use Zen Headbutt to make targets flinch and Bullet Punch to strike first. Moves like Crunch and Flamethrower work best for this battle.

The main hall has multiple doors. If you choose the wrong door, you’ll fall into the water then start at the beginning again. The main hall has Thwomps and Dull Bones. If you choose the right door, you’ll stand on a landing strip on the other side then find the door to the boss room. Stomp Boom Boom 3 times to get the key and finish.

This requires an Aurora Ticket that can be obtained via Nintendo Event. With the Aurora Ticket, go to the harbor at Vermilion City and you’ll ride to Birth Island. At Birth Island, interact with the triangle and keep following it until it becomes red. Once it becomes completely red in the center, save your game in front of it. Interact while it’s red in the center and Deoxys will appear. Deoxys is on Level 30. After you capture it, Deoxys will transform into its Attack Form. If Deoxys reaches Level 45, it will learn its signature move called Psycho Boost, a move that sharply lowers the user’s own Special Attack stat when it strikes.
