Ubuntu Unity forks. Ubuntu 17.04 wireless bug. Ubuntu on Dell. Ubuntu and System 76.
Good news for fans of Unity! One Unity fork will be for desktop Linux users, and another will be for mobile Linux users. A bug in Ubuntu 17.04 break wireless functionality. Dell has introduced a new all-in-one computer that can be loaded with either Ubuntu Linux or Red Hat Linux. Finally, an interview with the head guy of System 76 computers about their future with Ubuntu, and about Linux on the desktop.

A few days after I made the video that debunked the notion that WannaCry, or WannaCrypt, could infect Linux machines via WINE, we got news that there's a seven-year-old flaw with Samba, which could possibly allow a remote-code execution attack on Linux and Unix machines. There is a patch available for Linux, so be sure to apply it. This flaw also affect certain NAS devices, so be sure to check with the manufacturer to see if a patch is available for any of them that you might have. Be sure to protect yourself from WannaCrypt for Linux, for proper Linux security.

Linux security is a big deal. But, just like anything else, there's a lot of misinformation about it floating around on the Internet. In this case, a person at Steemit.com posted a hilariously bad article about the recent but with the Debian apt utility. He makes out like the Debian apt bug is something earth-shaking, but it really isn't. Linux users and Linux administrators alike will enjoy watching this.
On a more serious note, even though this isn't quite as serious as this writer makes out, you do want to make sure that you keep your Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint systems updated so that this apt bug will get fixed.
