Our lead story: Detroit filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy in July of 2013. With an estimated $18-20 billion in debt, Detroit is the largest municipal bankruptcy filing in US history. Last Friday, a federal judge approved Detroit’s bankruptcy plan allowing the city to reset and regroup after years of financial mismanagement. In only 16 months, the city managed to work out a plan that will eliminate $7 billion worth of debt. Erin weighs in. Julie gives us her take on President Obama’s recent statement defending net neutrality and breaks down his argument.
