RECPE FOR ROSE WATER
If using fresh petals, use cold water. If using dried petals, use hot water.
Pick enough petals to fill a jar of your choosing ensuring that the roses have not been sprayed or damaged. Fill the jar with water and a small dash of vodka. Put on the lid and leave to stand for three days. Shake the jar occasionally. After three days, strain out the rose petals and decant the water into your final container. The water should smell of roses. Add a couple of drops of Rose essential oil to preserve and that's it. I made a lot last year and kept the excess in the fridge, topping up my bathroom bottle as needed.

I live in Connemara, a beautiful, magical area in the west of Ireland and today I am out and about visiting the woodland at Ballinahinch Castle. Please think again before chopping down a tree for Christmas! Trees are noble, sentient beings and keep us and our planet alive. Not only that but they offer many kinds of medicine.

Seaweed is abundant in minerals and offers multiple health benefits. All seaweeds are edible and some are quite specific for particular health issues. Here I show how simple and easy it is make a condiment to ensure you get some seaweed goodness every day. It practically guarantees to put a spring in your step.

If you are interested in discovering plants on a more metaphysical level and you are interested in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, then perhaps you will prefer the Wise Woman Way training. This is a transpersonal course based on shamanic and druidic techniques as well as Irish Folklore. You can find out more here https://www.danusirishherbgarden.com/wise-woman-way/
To make the condiment in the video simply take one portion of coarse salt, (I recommend sea salt of Himalyan salt) and one portion of dried seaweed of your choice. (It doesn't matter which as all seaweed are edible and are full of minerals). Break up the dried seaweed into tiny pieces and then grind up together with the salt either using a pestle and mortar or a clean coffee grinder. Sprinkle on any meal for flavouring and add to cooking. This is a very simple and easy way to build up the body and to remineralise.

Thanks so much for watching. If you would like to make your own Rosehip Syrup, here is the recipe:
8ozs Rosehips- from any Rose but make sure they have not been sprayed with any chemicals.
1 Litre (2 pints) of fresh water
1 8oz jar of honey - you could use brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Brandy - optional
Muslin or cheesecloth or similar
Funnel
Place the Rosehips in a pan and cover with the water. Bring to the boil and then simmer gently until the water is reduced by half.
Strain out the Rosehips and place on compost.
Return the liquid to the pan and turn off heat.
Add the honey and stir gently until the honey has dissolved into the liquid.
Add the Brandy if desired.
Pour into clean bottles and when cooled put on the lid.
Label and keep in the fridge.
When the children go back to school, a teaspoon each morning makes a good prophylactic and if someone in the family should get sick, give a tsp three times per day for sore throat, cold and shivers, runny nose etc.
All the best and many thanks - Terri

Meditation can be very soothing and can help bring a person to the moment, to the here and now so that external problems can be viewed at a distance. Some of us cannot sit still - like me - and so a walking meditation, observing Nature can be of benefit to mental well being.
