How to use Alias and Unalias to create and delete shortcut commands in the Linux Bash terminal.
Commands: $ alias shortcmd=’a long winded command’ $ alias -p (list all aliases) $ unalias shortcmd (delete shortcmd) Create permanent aliases in either the ~/.bashrc or ~/.bash_aliases if the file is referenced on your system
On its own the AMD AM1 Athlon 5350 makes an adequate Home Theatre PC (HTPC), but paired with a discrete Nvidia GT640 makes a brilliant HTPC with Kodi 14 Helix running on Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 64bit.
I demo the same three files as before:
1. 10GB 1080P .MKV x264 with DTS
2. 30GB 1080P .MKV x264 with Dolby TrueHD
3. 1.6GB 1080P x265 with AAC Stereo sound
With VDPAU hardware acceleration, Noise reduction and Smoothing enabled. Audio is bitstreaming Dolby TrueHD / DTS-HD surround sound

Perhaps the "Microsoft" scammers have learnt the behaviour of the Linux desktop :-(
Sorry I missed the beginning of the recording, I was busy doing some retro gaming with Quake 2.

Tutorial on how to successfully recover data from a Severely Corrupted hard drive in Ubuntu Linux using Testdisk and Photorec.
A “professional” repair shop attempted recovery of data from this Windows Laptop drive, but failed. Using Testdisk in Linux I recovered about 70% of the drive. (Could have been more, but it was crippling my system and running horrifically slow)
sudo apt-get install smartmontools
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends smartmontools
Find out drive number with GUI tools, Gparted, or “fdisk -l”
sudo smartctl -a /dev/sdx
sudo testdisk /dev/sdx
Take a backup image if you have enough disk space spare on your system
sudo photorec image.dd (or /dev/sdx)
find . -type f \( -iname "*.jpg" -o -iname "*.jpeg" -o -iname "*.png" \) -exec cp '{}' /destination/ \;

Preview of NanoLinux, a tiny full GUI Distro that even comes with a few apps pre-installed. It weighs in at 14MB for the ISO file and requires just 64MB of RAM. In theory you could run it on a 20+ year old 486.
However its no where near perfect, in particular there are very few apps available.
At this point I would take Tiny Core Linux.

Google will soon be blocking third-party cookies in Chrome / Chromium , and implementing a new Privacy Sandbox under the guise of Building a more private web.
In my opinion the changes will actually make it harder for users to control their privacy as it will force tracking companies to become more invasive and gather other metrics about your system in order to identify all your browsing habits.
