MultiRC HMB-180 beta-test maiden with Foxeer Night Wolf
Running betaflight 3.0 on F3... terrifyingly punchy. I'll try not to crash this into shallow water within my first 10 flights like the last 3, but I live in an awful place. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5USyxZ3n0E

We interrupt your regularly scheduled nonsense for what I've been up to during the most extreme cold month of Winter here, in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm so proud to have not just 1, but 4! (count'em). 4! of Facebook's webcams strapped to my face for hours on end, perfectly mapping out every possible pixel of my spaces. I can't wait to see what they try to sell or sway me into doing next ; ) Maybe it'll be buying life insurance for the inevitable brain tumor all these WiFi signals are growing in my frontal lobes with this thing strapped to my forehead! Isn't the future glorious?
Any da wae, I've played about 12 hours of Palov on PC VR before playing the standalone Quest version. It feels a lot faster and the tracking seems a tad more accurate on the "Shack" version, but there is probably less latency when I'm not using Oculus Quest Link via USB-C. This is the video that helped me install it: https://youtu.be/V-z5bhBuXc0

I stretched the awful 36fps video that is recorded on the Oculus Quest itself out instead of doing the stupid stretch-blur a background of the same thing with the portrait version on top... this isn't Instaphlem or whatever; use a computer and enjoy fidelity. I did some optical flow frame blending up to 60fps as well so it doesn't make you too terribly sick to watch it. The real experience in the headset is as smooth as an android's bottom, aye Data?
...might have to do more of this... but I don't know. I don't care.
VR _really_ scratches the ADHD itch though, which I seem to have: https://youtu.be/n2EVEYmeSqg

It's pretty terrible, but the stock tune was in laughable slow-motion. Turtle props on there... Compared to a H8 w/ stock Silverware, it feels out of control w/ Kabab's tune. I'm going to try the Mockingbird tune for a bit, then figure out my own from there. I didn't ante up for an F4 brushless anything and not expect my fair share of precision.
The VTX is noisy AF and the camera is terrible at low light. Also, the RSSI is down in the 40%'s when I'm 2-300' LOS! Considering I just did half a mile with a H8 down a side street at head level while sitting in a car, I'm not impressed with the stock D8 RX. Then again, it's just a number; we'll have to range test it when it's not too wet to failsafe. I have the antennas vertical and poking out the top btw, and they measured correctly and were soldered well.
It's at least quiet, but twice as loud as the H8. 4x as expensive with a worse experience, so far.

Random edit from the yard, showing off the crispy 60fps from the RapidFIRE / PowerPlay.
Whenever that "Media Offline" thingy comes up, it's because there is condensation in the AIO causing a bad signal, usually cause I crashed into the grass.

Tried to light the pine tree from the inside with one of Daniel's StratusLED's running off my ebike battery, but it didn't work out well. I had some LED lanterns out since this camera doesn't have the IR mod done yet.

Random flying about with the Skyzone goggles. Further evidence of lots of control stream dropouts... Switching to something I can get a RSSI output with.

Old jerb... the content of which was neat. The daily activities of which were time wasting and sub-optimal. I miss the environments sometimes, at least when nobody was around and I could just admire the brutality of large-scale automation.

AUW 60 grams w/ 1S 600mAh GNB XT30
This is built from the motors and frame of the FPVCycle BabyTooth, with the AIO-FC/RX/VTX, Camera and Canopy of the HappyModel Mobula6 HD. All I did was plug the motors in and flash the latest BF4.2.1 and JazzMaverick 48K. This build could definitely benefit from direct soldering the motors and an XT30 upgrade, which is now on the menu of nonsense I'll waste my time doing soon. The Mobula6 HD frame and props basically shattered on my 3rd flight... and I didn't see the point of rebuilding it heavy. I'll fix it up into a regular non-HD version if I can find a better frame for those 0802 motors.
It flies fairly well, and is about 3 grams heavier AUW than the recommended components from KababFPV. This could be the recipe with a better FPV and possibly a Pololu regulator to keep the HD camera functional down to 2.5V. You have to be careful you don't crash the camera with low voltage, because insta-blindness! Blind disarms usually parachute-land upright though cause of the big BF3016 props, as evidenced by some freshly-mangled 1S cells.
Flight duration is 3-4 minutes on a 450-600mAh, 1S only.
I like the original 1103-style toothpick 8000KV on 2S 300mAh packs the best so far. 3S toothpicks aren't fun to fly cause they're too touchy and need too much space. I want to try a 2S 300mAh on ~8000KV 1202.5 motors of some kind with the BF3016 tri's and HD camera. That might be the peak of overlapping envelopes for the best bits all up.
The Runcam Split3-lite has better FPV and HD video than the Caddx Turtle, but it occasionally boots up weird and has a noticeable delay. Prolly needs new firmware.

$25 risk / 25 grams AUW
Before you complain about where / when I flew, it's twenty-five grams and completely frangible!!! I could throw a deck of cards at your head and hurt you way more, FYI. Also, I'm up a night... I can't help that. 3AM and the city is finally quiet; all is well with the cosmos. Shhhhhh....
T'was 9°F w/ windchill (18MPH wind). Luckily windshields are radiotransparent.
Oh yeh, I basically just took the lens off the Beetle, scraped the glue off the 4 corners of the IR filter with an xacto knife (it's on the back of the lens), pried the IR filter glass out and reinstalled / focused the lens. It definitely improved the night vision, didn't affect the colors too much, and the only downside seems to be a bit more lens flares (which I enjoy, personally).
Max distance (1-way down a side street): ~700 Meters / 0.43 Miles (Stock H8 antenna wire! No amplifier mods or anything FCC-illegal at all; just a stock IRangeX IRX4 LITE w/ "FrSky 2.4GHz T-Style Antenna For Taranis X-Lite")
