Good evening, I’m still reporting on SR 1242 – NASA’s VAB Under Threat from Hurricane Matthew Tonight At dawn, tomorrow, the largest single-story building in the world will be tested as never before. The Kennedy Space Center’s most visible landmark, the Vertical Assembly Building – or VAB – may take a direct hit from Hurricane Matthew bringing winds of 130 miles per hour sustained and 165 miles per hour in gusts. The problem is that the VAB was only designed to withstand 125 mile-per-hour winds. Even though this massive building is designed with panels in its sides that a strong hurricane can blow out to reduce the sideways pressure on this massive building, no one knows if the VAB can survive wind speeds in excess of her design limit. The building was completed in 1966 to assemble this nation’s largest moon rocket, the Saturn V. The VAB dominates the Space Center’s skyline, standing 526 feet tall and covering 8 acres of floor space. It is the tallest building in the United States outside an urban area. I’ve covered a dozen Space Shuttle missions from the Press Site which sits besides the VAB. They are both about 3.2 miles from launch Complex 39 which you can see in the distance. The press site is the closest humans can get to a rocket launch. The only way you can get a fix on the size of the VAB is by looking at the giant American flag on its side. The flag is approximately 70% of the size of an American football field. It is 209 feet tall by 110 feet wide. The VAB has been on the U.S. Register of Historic Places since 2000. Hurricane Matthew will strike the VAB about dawn Friday morning. Sadly, this immense and historic structure is at risk. But the human risk along Florida’s east coast is enormous as well, and if history is any measure, Hurricane Matthew may cause a catastrophic loss of life. Why? A storm of this size and intensity has never hit the northern half of Florida’s east coast in recorded history. From the Kennedy Space Center northwards are hundreds of not thousands of small mobile home parks where elderly residents who retire from the Northern U.S. can live out their lives relatively cheaply in the relatively-warm winters along Florida’s eastern seaboard. These mobile homes cannot possibly survive winds of this magnitude, and yet, according to the Weather Channel, many of these mobile home residents are refusing to leave. They plan on “riding out the storm” as they have always done in the past. Without some sort of miracle, many of those who chose not to obey evacuation orders today may die tomorrow. And there is no chance of rescuers reaching them, during the peak of the storm. This afternoon, police and emergency services announced that they will be unable to respond to any calls until wind speeds drop below 50 miles per hour. It is estimated that these people could be completely on their own for 24 hours or more. Hurricane Matthew could became the most expensive hurricane to ever touch US shores, as well as the most deadly. I’m still reporting from Washington, good day. SR 1310 – DayBreak Poll - Trump ROCKETS to a 5.4% Lead OVER Crooked Hillary Clinton Donald Trump has rocketed ahead to what the USC Daybreak poll’s creators define as an unstoppable lead of 5.4% this morning. Trump now leads Clinton 47.8% to 42.4% in this national tracking poll. And remember the methodology of this poll – it is a 7-day rolling average with over 3,004 participants. Trump – in a single day – jumped up 9/10s of a percent, while Clinton fell 9/10ths of a percent – a huge one-day swing of 1.8% - and that’s on top of yesterday’s 1.7% swing. In fact, in the last 9 days, Trump has risen 4 full points, while Clinton has lost 2.7% - a 6.7% swing. Both candidates – Trump on the topside, and Clinton on the bottom side of this chart – are now well outside of the “95% confidence interval”. According to the University of Southern California researchers running the ongoing Understanding America Study: “Figures lying outside the gray band mean that we are at least 95% confident that the candidate with the highest percentage will win the popular vote.” But in addition, the closer such a surge to election day, the more sure of that result we can be. There is now little doubt that Donald Trump will win the popular vote nationwide. Digging down into the numbers shows where the biggest surge lies. Trump now leads in all 3 age categories. With millennials, Trump now leads by 2.6%. Among the middle aged, Trump now leads by a whopping 5.2%. But in the 65 and over group, Trump’s lead has now widened to 9.6%. When sorted by education, Trump enjoys a huge 18.1% lead among those with a high school education or less. A landslide is defined as a 10-point lead. Among those with some college, Trump leads by 12.3%. Even among those with advanced degrees, Trump is closing the once-huge gap. Clinton still leads here in this demographically small group by 13.1%. When sorted by income, Clinton still leads among those making $35k or less by 17.8%. However, among the middle class – those with household incomes of between $35k and 75k, Trump leads by 15.9%. Among those making $75k or more, Trump leads by 11.4%. When sorted by ethnicity, Trump’s lead among whites continues to increase, now at 25.9%. This poll’s one blind spot continues to be among blacks. Although Trump made a .9% gain yesterday, Clinton still dominates with an 82.1% lead. In the “other ethnicity” group, Trump now leads by 9.2%. Among Latinos, Clinton still leads by 18.2%, however, Trump did increase by .6% points yesterday, while Clinton fell by .9 percent; a one-and-a-half percent swing. Among the ever-critical female vote, Trump closed the gap yesterday by 1.5%. Clinton’s lead has been cut to 8.5%. Among men, Trump increased his lead yesterday by a full 2 percentage points. Good evening. I’m still reporting on the rule of law. One more thing that sadly needs to be pointed out that came to light at today’s hearing; Secretary Clintons 3-and-a-half-hour testimony last Saturday was not recorded in any way. Incredibly, if she was asked any questions – and FBI Director Jim Comey didn’t even admit that she was asked ANYTHING – but if Clinton actually was asked any questions, it was NOT under oath? There is no transcript, and after all this supposed effort, Director Comey was not even present. On top of, Director Comey admitted that he did not even talk to all of the 5 or 6 agents who did participate to ask them for their opinions. Why have this interview at all? She could lie. She could refuse to say anything.” It is clear to me that the FBI was not serious about this last interview with Secretary Clinton. No! The decision had already been made. It was probably made on the Attorney General’s airplane with Bill Clinton a week before. Literally, for all we know, Clinton, her 5 attorneys, and those 5 or 6 FBI agents had a Saturday morning champagne brunch and yucked it up that the rest of us are such ignorant, powerless savages. The modern-day Sanhedrin has summoned both President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry to a trial set for noon on September 8 to face charges for “criminal offenses” against Israel, following the passage of the Iran nuclear deal. The modern day Jewish high court, made up of 71 Judaic scholars and rabbis will bring Obama and Kerry to trial on Mount Zion four days before Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. To Jews, Rosh Hashana celebrates the day Adam and Eve were created – the first man and woman. The ancient Sanhedrin was closed down by Theodosius, the last Roman Emperor to rule over both the east and western halves of the Roman Empire. He made membership in the Sanhedrin punishable by death around 394 AD and banned the Olympics in Ancient Greece. The Olympics were revived in 1896, 1,5 00 years later. The modern-day Sanhedrin was re-established in 1999 to try: “… matters great and small, those that pertain to Israel, and those that pertain to other nations as well.” On July 16, just 8 days ago, the Sanhedrin summoned Obama and Kerry to the Sept. 8 trial saying: “…you have failed to prevent the agreement with destructive consequences that are inevitable for Israel, the Jewish people, all people of the region, to the United States, and to the West.” “… your move raises suspicion that it is deliberately promoting genocide for the Jewish people.” The letter outlined the charges being brought: “… administering wanton and destructive policies conducive to wars and hostilities and the growth of terrorist organizations….” Should Obama and Kerry be found guilty as charged, the letter states that they can be: “… sued personally, forced to pay compensation for the damage you caused towards all the victims of all peoples of the region….” I’m still reporting from Washington.
