Jean-Claude Juncker has asked an EU ethics panel to investigate former European Commission head Jose Barroso's job at Goldman Sachs. Ameera David has the details. Then, Bianca Facchinei reports on how homeowners are taking precedence over renters in the U.S. election. Afterwards, RT Correspondent Manuel Rapalo reports from North Dakota, where Native American tribes have won a partial victory in their quest to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.
After the break, Ameera speaks to Marin Katusa, chairman of Katusa Research, about the potential for an oil deal between OPEC and Russia, and whether the oil market has finally come into balance. And finally, in the Big Deal, Edward Harrison discusses how much the Fed is responsible for recent jitters in both the bond and equity markets globally.
Our lead story: Senator Elizabeth Warren strikes again with her opposition to the Obama-backed Trans Pacific Partnership only growing louder by the day. This time, the Democratic senator from Massachusetts has released a new report called Broken Promises. In it, she criticizes both President Obama and past presidents for not doing enough to protect the rights and wages of workers when negotiating trade deals. Boom Bust guest host Ameera David weighs in.
Then, Erin sits down with Alex Daley – chief technology investment strategist at Casey Research. Alex tells us why FitBit’s best days may be in the past and gives us his take on why Uber – with such a high valuation – is trying to raise $1 – 2 billion more. Daley goes into great depth on the positives and negatives of the wearables market and questions whether the market has the same trade-in and trade-up quality that keeps mobile handset sales high.
After the break, Bianca Facchinei gives us a look at other major tech stories of the day, including the Samsung/Apple case, Google’s advertising fraud, a partnership between Starbucks and Spotify, and a potential hack of the Starbucks mobile app.
Afterwards, Ameera is joined by Erin to discuss how Overstock is getting into the “stock business" -- the digital stock-business to be precise. And Overstock is talking about using the Bitcoin blockchain in order to verify stock transactions without the use of a central market clearinghouse.
And in The Big Deal, Ameera and Edward Harrison discuss Google, Apple, e-commerce, and more.

Our lead story: Our lead story today is the US jobs report. The unemployment rate fell to a 6-year low of 5.8% and non-farm payrolls increased by 214,000 in October. This marks the 49th consecutive month of net job creation, the longest stretch of job creation since the 1930s. But despite the positive headline, underneath weak wage growth remains, as average hourly earnings are up only 2.0% in the last year. Erin weighs in.
Then, Erin is joined by Nick Rowe, Professor of Economics at Ottawa's Carleton University. We break down the terms used all too frequently by the central banks of the world like quantitative easing and forward guidance. And Nick tell us why he’s not too bothered about high household indebtedness in Canada.
After the break, is our Defining Moments segment, where we take a look back at some of the best moments from our Boom Bust guests. In today's Defining Moments, Karl Denninger tells us what impact zero rates and quantitative easing have had on the economy, John Mauldin tells us what to think about a rising US dollar, and Gerald Celente cautions that sanctions should be considered an act of war and hearkens back to World War II to explain why.
And in The Big Deal, Erin and Edward Harrison are talking Japan. The Bank of Japan has taken a massive amount of assets onto its balance sheet relative to other major central banks. Will this work to stop the rot? We are skeptical. Take a look.
