Channel Update and Chat: Q&A with Patreon questions, Fun Community Question and Waffle.
Hello Everyone! Hope you are all well.
Having recovered from illness I thought I'd swing back into action with a channel update video. In this video I answer some Patreon backers questions, including one about my WORST console, and chat in general about what's happening on the channel. @RetroManCave gets a mention regarding a future, stalled project and we have a fun community question.
BIG THANKS to my Patreon Supporters . If you would like to help fund future videos, I would be really grateful. Visit https://www.patreon.com/markfixesstuff for more details.

Join me as we upgrade and playtest our (now working) Tatung Einstein TC-01 Microcomputer. This fairly obscure British home computer launched in the summer of 1984 for an astonishing £499! A lovely computer that never really made a dent in the british market and ended up being the system that other 8-bit games were developed on!

Upgrades in this episode:
-----------------------------------------
? A custom mount, kindly produced for us by our channel sponsors PCBWay! They've produced this 3D print using a tough yet slightly flexible resin called Somos® Taurus. The detail is superb, and any dust picked up by the camera is mine!
You can find PCBWay's CNC and 3D Printing offerings here: https://www.pcbway.com/rapid-prototyping/manufacture/ and I thank them and the wonderful Elaine Hu for their help and attention!
? For Video output we are using an RGB SCART custom cable from the amazing Retro Computer Shack. Cables made by Ian Priddey are absolutely superb and I have no reservations about recommending Ian's work.
Find Retro Computer Shack here: https://www.retrocomputershack.com/RCS-Website/Products-Page/index.html
? A whopping great 1 metre long dual drive lead from York-AV on Ebay: Seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/avyork - Item https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115419435601
??? We put all the parts together and playtest at the end. ???♂️?

? ? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING THE CHANNEL! ? ?
The cost of living crisis has really put the viability of continuing the channel in jeopardy. Your kind and ongoing support is helping me to carry on to try and find some additional income streams.

Join me as we fix a Panasonic 3DO that won't read disks at all. With help from a good friend we use the power of 3D printing to create a pattern part that fits and works... with some "adjustment" required! ???
Did you ever have a 3DO?

This Atari Falcon 030 is really heavily expanded, but also has a couple of issues. Aside from some really awful wiring we will need to repair a corroded keyboard and take on a dead RTC chip, but first we need to recap... and MAYHEM ensues.
BIG THANKS to thanks to my kind Patreon backer Richard for letting me fiddle with his Falcon and all the rest of my amazingmy Patreon Supporters who are mentioned in the video. If you would like to help fund future videos, I would be really grateful.

In this video we are further modding the Sega Saturn, that was donated to us by Mike Dailly (the Creator of Lemmings) so that when we use the Fenrir ODE, we can also switch regions, or more importantly video standards.
Our PAL standard Sega Saturn should then run faster and full screen with game images fomr the USA and Japan regions. The video covers the full install, testing and comparisons, and we also have time to clean up the console a bit along the way. SOAPY!

This video is kindly sponsored by https://www.PCBWay.com! Join me as we build a TZXDuino, from PCB through to programming the Arduino!
We go through the whole build, set up the Arduino IDE software with the required libraries and I explain how to program the unit (and where to get the latest firmwares).

Join me as we convert a boring IBM PC standard floppy disk drive to work on a Commodore Amiga computer. We cover every step on this ALPS DF354 drive and finally test with some Amiga Disks.
The basic mods are pretty similar from drive to drive, often with only the solder pad locations changing.
Not all models can be converted but a lot can, so if you've hoarded a pile of old PC floppy drives then now might be the time to give some of them a new lease of life!
