Oddly enough, at this point I've done a handful of firearms reviews but no gear reviews! To fix that, I wanted to start out with a product that I really like a whole lot: a paracord sling for my IWI TAVOR from Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings. Made-to-order, LOTS of options, and priced right! What more could you want? Thanks to my gunsmith for his great work on this project! He has threaded quite a few barrels for me and helped with other custom builds like my https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBYxml-xDcM . You can find Nick at www.HCTCfirearms.com
This 1945 Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine got gussied up with Promag's Archangel stock, a Timney trigger, a Brass Stacker Anchor Point scope mount, a See All Open Sight, and a Precision Armament M11 muzzle brake. HCTC firearms put it all together by cutting the barrel down to 16", recrowning and threading it, and coating many of the parts with KG Gunkote in a sweet digital camo pattern. The end result is awesome! It's a ton of fun to shoot now!

7.62x54R is a great round, and can still be found for like $0.20 per. A lot more affordable than .308 but ballistically very similar! The Ultimate Mosin here is fairly comparable to a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle (http://www.ruger.com/products/gunsiteScoutRifle/models.html) -- bolt-action, drop magazine fed, forward/scout scope location, short barrel. This build wasn't cheap, but it comes in at or under the price of a Gunsite Scout. Not bad when you consider the ammo savings! Plus... maybe you already have an old, neglected Mosin to use for a project of your own... Winners have been announced here: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/11/jeremy-s/jeremys-muzzle-brake-contest-winners-revealed/
Step 1: Subscribe to the channel
Step 2*: Comment and include a link to a photo of you in your 2nd Amendment-related Halloween costume
Step 3: Enter through November 15th, and shortly thereafter I'll choose a winner. That person will receive one of the OSS brakes! If you don't have a rifle that accepts either of these, we'll come up with something else.
* Step 2 Alternative: No photo? That's cool. Comment with your best idea for a 2nd Amendment-related Halloween costume instead. I'll choose my favorite from the submissions and the winner will receive something else -- most likely a different muzzle brake.

NAA makes a high quality little micro revolver, available in .22 LR, .22 Magnum (WMR), and cap & ball. Many variations, styles, and barrel lengths are available. Check them out at www.northamericanarms.com
They're fun to shoot and they're very high quality! You can darn sure carry them concealed in anything you might want to wear. Rimfire isn't a great choice for self defense but this *is* actually a proven firearm in multiple defensive shootings. SNW range review of the MEAN Arms Bearing Delay Upper Receiver. It fits any standard AR-15 lower receiver and it provides HK MP5 style roller delayed blowback action and all of the smoothness and quietness that comes with it! What a fantastic product; it's up there at the very top for quietest, smoothest 9mm I've ever shot. Plus the machining, engineering, fit, finish, and reliability were all flawless. Very nice! Checking out the .22 caliber version of Walther's PPQ M2. It's the same size as the centerfire & high quality. No pot metal here!

No zinc alloy in the PPQ .22 LR. The slide is machined aluminum with steel inserts and is nicely anodized. Same size and feel that you know and love on the centerfire PPQs in both 9mm and .40 S&W. Many rounds downrange now with and without a suppressor, and this pistol is crushing it! Totally reliable, super accurate, great trigger, and a blast to shoot! The Liberty Mystic suppressor can be used on a huge range of calibers and firearms, and we'll try to get a bunch of different guns on camera to see what they sound like with the can. In this video, we test out an AR-15 with a Precision Guncraft billet lower receiver and an Adams Arms piston upper. It's a great setup, because the adjustable gas piston system means you can tune it for the extra pressure/time caused by the silencer. No blowback in the face and very little gas out of the action at all (I think it was just coming out of the empty cartridges), plus correct ejection without empty brass flying into the next county.
I was VERY impressed by how much quieter the gun was with the suppressor. It really cannot be demonstrated with a camera, since the mic on the camera maxes out way, way below the volume of the unsuppressed gunshot. However, it gives you an idea from the bass and the blast and the echo that you hear unsuppressed, and just a sort of crack or clap w/ the can on there. Huge difference.
