I recently obtained a knife that is relatively new on the market; the L.T. Wright Genesis. Here I put it through the 3 tests I put any "main carry" knife through before I will carry it. I did cut a lot out of this video out to make it as short as possible. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did filming it. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36dA62BTGnQ
In this video we take The Bark River Adventurer through various EDC styled tasks to see how it holds up as well as the new Elmax steel Bark River is making them from.
The knife is feather light and will do the cutting tasks of a larger knife. The Adventurer excels for fine work and performs very well for heavier cutting tasks when necessary.

Between the blade profile and geometry and the handle design, this knife puts the "craft" in bushcraft. The handle easily allows for multiple handle positions with no hot spots or hand fatigue while providing for a lot of control. For those who are a fan of the Pukko style Bushcraft blades, I highly recommend this knife.

Recently while walking through the woods near my home, I ran across a type of tree I'm not really familiar with and a growth on said tree that resembles chaga. Here's what I find when investigating closer.

One consistent question I get frequently is how do I sharpen my knives. Here I try to answer the question in a way that is understandable to folks new to the skill. Also, I address the common claim of "when you at the right angle, it just sounds right". That statement is very true but isn't something that translates well through a video. In this video, I try and clarify that noise as best as possible.

The White River Firecraft FC4 is a knife designed for work, simple as that. While it's main design focus is on Firecraft in a survival situation, it certainly doesn't shy away from other Bushcraft and Survival Tasks. This is the first field knife I've used made out of S30V and thus far I am impressed. After 2 weeks of hard use, it survived without damage and the edge will still (barely) shave hair. It is a high saber grind so it is a good balance between edge strength and slicing ability. The FC4 is obviously a very well thought out design.

The new Bushcrafter HC from LTWK hits on some big ones. We created this knife thinking about performance, value, and field service. At the heart of this knife is a piece of 3/32 inch high carbon 1075 steel. This is a steel you can sharpen easily in the field, will strike with a flint and light char cloth, and comes with our own 2 step patina to reduce rusting issues. The design is the same as Tim Stetzer originally envisioned it though with its spear point, single finger groove, and barrel shaped handle. These features all help in using this knife in a multitude of grips and still be comfortable.

The Gasification process is not only an efficient way to burn wood and other fuels but it is also fascinating. This video is an easy and foundational project into building and improvising gasifier stoves. Building off of this simple design, one could improvise a stove out of many different cans and materials, whether at home or in the field.
All you need for this project are two tin cans that nest together appropriately (as shown in the video at 1:20)
And a Multitool with a can opener and awl.
