Finding meaning in life, where does one go in search of this and if it can be found will it be lost to time. As we age we forget the former self, who we use to be, before the responsibilities of being an adult and paying bills. Think of who you are today, what difference is there between now and then. Between your childhood and adulthood. Where did it all go wrong? where or when did you make that wrong turn? but are there any wrong paths in life or are we just making the wrong step? making the same mistake twice. we can be hard on ourselves, but we are often the hardest on ourselves in times of turmoil, when life has its greatest obstacles and we put ourselves down by our words. We forget of who we use to be when we were younger. When we weren't so critical of ourselves. when we didn't have expectations place upon us by others. Ask yourself this, how many of your goals in life are of your own ambitions and how many are due to the judgment of others or the expectations others have of who they think you should be. what meaning do you derive from this life? anger is the poison to happiness and self knowledge the cure. Although the knowledge can lead you to the path of anger, it is pursuing it deeply and understanding yourself that will help you find meaning. strength comes from within and if you can overcome your own judgment then the judgment of others will be meaningless. No one can make you feel worthless without your consent to agree that you are. The values you place on yourself, are they values determined by self knowledge or outside criticisms? Internal validation has far more meaning than the external. everyone can believe in you but if you don't believe in yourself then you wont get anywhere. if you want to get anywhere in this life, take the first step and acknowledge the value you offer. There is more to life than living for others, if you haven't taken that first step in living for yourself then you should step in. It's like looking at a pool of ice water, the first step is always the worst, but the longer your in you eventually acclimate.
