Jallikattu supporters of Kolkata has something to tell about their concern of banning the traditional festival. Bullfighting is a 400-year-old tradition in India and, as in other countries where the sport is popular, it attracts a lot of negative publicity.
In 2014, the Supreme Court in India banned the four-century-old Jallikattu event that attracts thousands during the Pongal harvest festival in the state of Tamil Nadu, as a “barbaric” way of treating animals. It upheld the ban in 2016.
Jallikattu is different from Spanish bull-fighting as the bull isn’t killed, and the man does not use a weapon.
An agitated bull is set to run in an open space. Several people, empty handed, try to tame it by controlling its horns. The winner gets a prize, which is generally tied to the horns of the bull. Only men take part in this game. Betting is also common.
Supporters of the sport, say native cattle breeds will face a fight for survival as a result of the ban.
Jallikattu (or sallikkattu), also known as eru thazhuvuthal and manju virattu, is a traditional spectacle in which a Bos indicus bull, commonly of the Kangayam breed,[2] is released into a crowd of people and multiple human participants attempt to grab the large hump of the bull with both arms and hang on to it while the bull attempts to escape. Participants hold the hump for as long as possible, attempting to bring the bull to a stop. In some cases, participants must ride long enough to remove flags on the bull's horns.

Close to 70% per cent of Indian women risk getting severe infection, at times causing death, due to poverty, ignorance and shame attached to their menstruation cycle.
The silence and shame around the menstrual cycle has caused severe problems for girls. In a survey conducted in 2011, it was revealed that in north India, over 30% of the girls interviewed dropped out of school after they start menstruating. Reproductive tract infections (RTI) were 70% more common among women who were unable to maintain hygiene during their menstrual cycle. This kind of cultural neglect of menstrual hygiene is reflected in policies as well because a larger number of adolescent girls (between 12-18 years of age) miss five days of school due to lack of toilets for girls.
Taboo around menstruation has started to be seen as a threat to health and many people are willing to break this silence. In the exploration of the origins and basis of menstrual taboo, we have looked at the perception of menstrual cycle in different cultures and religions. The root of almost every perception seems to be patriarchy.

At least 49 people were killed and 20 seriously injured, in a hate-filled terror attack targeting two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.
The shooter, identified as 28-year-old Australian Right Wing citizen Brenton Harrison Tarrant, has been charged with murder. Authorities found an 87-page manifesto filled with anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim ideas.
According to the latest census figures, Muslims make up about 1.1% of New Zealand's population of 4.25 million.
Numbers rose sharply as New Zealand took in refugees from various war-torn countries since the 1990s.
Before the attacks took place, the gunman reportedly published an Islamophobic manifesto on Twitter. He then live-streamed his rampage, according to an analysis by the AFP news agency.
So what is Islamphobia?
- Islamophobia is the fear, hatred of, or prejudice against, the Islamic religion or Muslims generally, especially when seen as a geopolitical force or the source of terrorism.

The day you will laugh, the day pain will become your strength. The day you loved,The day I Iived.
The lyrics of Katra Katra is no doubt raw porn, and thats how it might be portrait in the upcoming horror movie 'Alone'. I was not waiting for the film. But the song touched my heart in a way that even knowing how lonely I am, it just felt like we were never separated. We were always in our thoughts.
Ankit Tiwari is a real talent that Indian music industry has got recently. This boy knows how to mix classical with electronics. He knows how to bang with a pump.
Separation and other sins was an old idea, what I have been through for such a long long time. Very few people who knows me, only they can catch the theme. But I hope lot of them like me will find their own stories. Thats what fun is when you shoot a film.
I hope nobody gets a life like this. Not everyone can survive.

Tripura is the 3rd smallest state in India. It has some best-kept secrets of its own. Statistically, it’s not the most famous tourist destination in India, but this small state is protecting one of the world’s most important heritage in the form of a bas-relief.
The journey to Unakoti from the state’s capital, Agartala is almost 159.8 km by car.
The word “Unakoti” means “One less than a crore” in Bengali. Unakoti rock carvings reside in the Raghunandan hills of the Northeastern Indian state of Tripura.
It has always been a famous pilgrimage site for the Hindus living in the state since the 7th century. There are various temples and pilgrimage sites all over India but, this one stands out. “Unakoti” is a collection of enormous bas-relief carvings on the side of the rocky hills.
Reports suggest that the rock art is losing considerable scales due to years of neglect. “Archeological Survey of India” recently adopted the heritage site and since then, the situation has been better. The government of India is approaching UNESCO to declare it as a world heritage site officially.
