Ever since the 1950's, SS Kresge and Kmart have been shaping the way North Americans shop. Kmart especially pioneered now common place shopping aspects and became a massive brand which is known around the world. With well over 2,000 stores across America, there was no stopping this mega retailer from their billions of dollars worth of sales. That was until a series of poor decisions and bad timing rather quickly brought down the goliath brand. Today almost all of those stores are closed and most abandoned, with little business from the company still being done. Join me as I look into how Kmart failed and who's to blame.

Shortly after the opening of Walt Disney World, a hotel opened up poised to be a destination in of itself. The motor inn, opened with almost 1,000 hotel rooms and for decades became a favourite hotel stop for vacationing families and save business travellers. But in 2012, the hotel was shuttered for good and all of it's contents inside, left to rot away. Today we're venting into this distinctly Florida resort hotel to find out what's left and what history we can piece together. This is certainly going to be one of the most spectacular places I have ever seen!

Synopsis
15 years after Hurricane Katrina sits a lasting monument of the devastation. Six Flags New Orleans is currently sitting abandoned, rotting away in the Louisiana swamp. Closed for Storm explores the past, present, and future, to find out how this incredible theme park became frozen in time and left in an endless void of uncertainty. This is the first feature length documentary from Bright Sun Films and the directorial debut for Jake Williams.
About The Film
I'm Jake Williams, the owner of Bright Sun Films and I began this project all the way back in mid 2018. A friend of mine approached me with the idea of seeking permission to film inside the abandoned Jazzland / Six Flags New Orleans site and make something super high quality. So that's exactly what me and my talented team of Youtubers and friends did. The film was professionally edited, sound mixed in 5.1 and filmed on cinema cameras over the course of 2019 and early 2020. Dan Bell and Darren Mercer are Executive Producers. The film explores the past, present and future of the now abandoned theme park while also exploring the remains and talking to people who knew the park best. In this feature documentary, we present all sides of the story as well as showcase never before seen footage from the glory days and the current state. I titled it - Closed For Storm, The Story of Six Flags New Orleans. For information on the release date and how to watch it, please visit the website - https://www.closedforstorm.com
Thanks for supporting this film and watching the official trailer to CFS. I myself, have poured a lot of my time, energy and my money (completely self funding this project) to try and achieve the best possible film I could. I'm sure many of you will see parallels to my series 'Abandoned' and of course this film was a big extension of that. So thank you all for the continued support and stay tuned for the release date and how to watch!

In the early 2000's, General Motors had released what would be one of the most controversial vehicles of the decade. The Hummer H1, H2 and H3 were all either loved or hated by Americans and with decent sales and an enthusiastic set of supporters, the massive SUV became an icon of the era. But, within just a few short years, the early success of the Hummer quickly declines until GM killed off the brand entirely before the decade was over. Join me as I find out why.

On November 22, 2007, the MS Explorer was sailing through the treacherous waters of Antarctica. The Explorer was an iconic cruise ship, the first purpose built cruise ship ever and one which had sailed almost every corner of the planet. She was a legendary ship and this was just another sailing to the last continent. What her 155 passengers didn't know however, was this trip was about to be her last, striking an ice berg 95 years after the Titanic. All onboard are about to be faced with surviving with very little supplies in one of harshest environments on the planet.

Objectively back in the 1900's, when you thought about taking pictures, you thought Kodak. They were once the worlds most iconic photography brand making popular cameras and film, innovating at every step. They generated tens of billions of dollars and secured themselves as one of the symbols of pop culture. However, in just a few short years, their photography empire came crumbling down in 2012 when they filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
