I always look forward to opening up my new Nerd Block when it comes in the mail. It's always a surprise and to be perfectly honest that is what makes it so appealing to me. In this block I received an Adventure Time T-Shirt that is pretty damn epic along with a Batman key-chain figurine, invincibility star from Mario Brothers, and awesome Disney Christmas plushy and an Iron Man paper cutout lair. Oh and I got a zombie slingshot for taking out my 3 1/2 year old before he reaches the cookie jar. I can't wait for Decembers block!
From Nerd Block Website: Although Nerd Block only costs $19.99, there's actually a much higher value to the items inside. To ensure everyone receives their Blocks safely and undamaged, we only ship to countries where we can provide tracking and air delivery at an affordable rate. If your country is not on the list, please email info@shirtpunch.com and we'll see if we can get a Block to you!

Due to the high costs associated with installing a full house central AC system or permanent installed split AC unit I've opted to use multiple portable air conditioners overs the years both Window units and floor standing units strategically placed throughout my house to give me more control over the humidity and temperate of those spaces. This little video will show you some of the tips and tricks I use to optimize my portable AC effectiveness cooling my spaces including some clever little tricks you may not have thought of. Since this is a short comedic video in addition to being education and informative I've included lots of extra information in the video description to help you out.
Here are a few of my all time favorite portable floor standing AC units
*Whynter ARC-145SH Floor Standing 14,000 BTU AC with built in heater (heats & cools)*
https://amzn.to/2Jt5ct1
This is my all time personal favorite floor standing AC unit because it's duel hose design means it pulls in air from outside to absorb the heat then exhausts it out of the other tube keeping the pressure in your house neutral instead of single hose units which pull air from inside of your house meaning that it has to create negative pressure in your home by pulling in more hot outside air through cracks under doors, around windows and through your bathroom vents. This kills the efficiency of those units and also ends up pulling in smells from your neighborhood, etc which is unpleasant sometimes. This unit also doesn't need a drain hose because it circulates the moisture collected back outside. This model also has a heater built in so it can pump heat into your room in the cold winter months so you don't have to heat your entire house using your furnace to save on electricity if you want your bedroom toaster than the rest of the house for instance.,

In this video I unbox and review my new Sans Digital TowerRaid TR4UTBPN 4-BAY USB 3.0 / eSATA Hardware STorage W/ RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 3, 5 & Clone. This awesome enclosure is the easiest RAID solution I've ever used, you simply insert your drives (I used 2 - 3GB Western Digital RED drives) and power the unit on and press a button and it will create the RAID internally and manage it so the array shows up on the computer as a single drive.
The enclosure also comes with software that allows you to fine tune the raid and make more complex configurations but it's not required. The drive can also be disconnected from USB 3.0 and connected to eSATA seamlessly and it comes up with all your data visible.
Also one thing to note is that in eSATA mode the array is much faster (by a huge margin) then when connected USB 3.0 so only use USB 3.0 if that is all you have available but eSATA is the way to go with this bad boy. But it is a nice feature that it works with USB 3.0 so you can plug it into your laptop or another computer quickly to transfer some data.

I show you how to use Powershell to forcefully remove the in-box Windows 10 applications that you cannot uninstall through the add/remove programs control panel because the 'uninstall' button is grayed out and disabled. You can also use 3rd party programs like DWS and CCleaner to remove these apps but I wanted to demonstrate how to do it with inbox applications so you can see that Microsoft is graying out the 'uninstall' button without a good reason.

I've been getting into mining GPU based crypto currency like Etherem so I reached out to Puget Systems and some how convinced them to put together this massively overkill custom rack mount server with 2 CPUs, 8 GPUs as a sponsored build. I use this system primarily for Ethereum mining, Adobe media encoder video rendering, and virtual machine hosting but I'm going to push it in many more directions.

This is a quick teaser trailer I rendered from my DirtFish 3-Day experience in Snoqualmie, WA. Driving rally cars is a complete blast and I would recommend that everyone tries it! I will create more complete videos of my runs as time allows and post them but this is just a quick little compilation of some of what I did during my 3-Day. In this video I unbox and review a pair of Logitech C920 HD Pro 1080p Webcams I purchased from NewEgg to replace my existing Microsoft Lifecam Studio HD and my Lifecam Cinema. This camera produces stunning picture quality that I didn't think was possible from a webcam. It rivals my big Canon 5D Mark II for video quality in many respects. The only down side is the software doesn't handle configuration two cameras connected to the same computer. The cameras work but only one is configurable by the software. I also thought the audio quality on the microphone was beyond crappy by anyones standards but I'm not worried since my audio source always comes from somewhere else. In this video you will get to hear a comparison of the audio quality versus my rode video mic and the Lifecam studio.
I use OBS (open broadcaster) to display the camera video in a controlled way to give a good comparison. I also test focus and light conditions and found that the logitech beats out the Lifecam in both of those areas. But don't get me wrong the Lifecam is no slouch and does a fantastic job. The lens on the Logitech camera is Carl Zeiss and he doesn't put his name on crap so you know what you're getting.

Let me show you how I wall mounted my Samsung Q7F 75" QLED screen which is crazy heavy in this episode of #DIYGasm with help from Mrs. Barnacules and a special guest at the end which you may also require as a part of your installation. The trick is selecting the right mount and improvising like MacGyver everywhere else. All the information you need to do the same installation can be found below in the expanded video description. Time to unbox and review the Kindle Paperwhite electronic book reader and compare it to the old generation Kindle. My wife really loves these devices and begged me to get her the Paperwhite so she could read in bed with the lights out. I told her I would get it as long as I could unbox it for you guys before I handed it over.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, Amazon's new ereader was unveiled in Santa Monica today, together with a new basic, though advanced Kindle that only costs $69.
A lot of ereader enthusiasts have been waiting for Kindle Paperwhite because it has built-in light. In fact, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos joked on Thursday that people are going to love the light so much that they are going to leave it on all the time. Well, he has the right to be enthusiastic and proud.
The built-in light is not a mere backlight. The light actually shines onto the display from a layer above called Nanoimprinted Light Guide, thus creating a much more pleasent light for your eyes. Very clever. The light is adjustable from any page you are on.
Kindle Paperwhite with light on
Kindle Paperwhite comes in 4 different editions. Starting at $119 is a sponsored Kindle Paperwhite that has a "Special Offers & Sponsored Screensavers" which isn't just a screensaver, but actually have the occasional special offer now and then. The Kindle Paperwhite without "Special Offers" costs only $20 more, at $139.

The guys at Puget Systems make a 3D model of me wearing my kilt using a method by which they take a video then transform it to a 3D model and ultimately print it on my Ultimaker V2+ 3D printer. They use a super computer with a half terabyte of memory and 64 cores to do the heavy lifting.
