I found a smooth backing track on YouTube and decided to throw down some improv to it. I made a few mistakes, but overall, I am pleased with the results.
Backing track is from the channel called "Now You Shred Jam Tracks Online"

Standard tuning: EADGBE
One of the first songs I learned to play (without the solo). It's really easy so, to you beginners, eat it up!
Solo:
The solo proved to be a bit challenging at first, but with practice you all should get it fairly quickly. I'm not quite sure if it's completely the way it's played, but this is as close as I could get. I hope it's good enough.
As I always say, listen to the CD to get all the timing down.

Standard tuning: EADGBE Played mostly in C Aeolian mode of the D# Major diatonic scale. There are a few licks in C Minor pentatonic. It proves to be a nice mix of the two scales. The song pretty much stays in one area of the fretboard, so there's not alot of moving around, but it sounds like it's all over the place. Carlos Santana is a GENIUS! IMHO. Sorry it took so long. I have been working on this song for awhile (approx. a month) and it is 100% solo, so it wasn't easy for me.

This is a quick tutorial on how to use Guitar Scales Method software. This software has helped me learn a lot, and I have started to memorize the fretboard in a short time. You can purchase the software here:

This tutorial is just a brief overview, but it will get you started using the software quickly, and it may solve some confusion if you are having a problem figuring the software out.
