Colombians clash with anti-riot ESMAD force - 6/12/2021
Several hundred protesters fought with the Colombian ESMAD (Mobile Anti-Disturbance Squadron), who deployed tear gas, "less lethal" munitions, and a water cannon against the crowd Saturday night at the Portal Americas transportation hub in Bogota, Colombia.
Protesters threw rocks and molotov cocktails at police and burned an Israeli flag. At least 63 civilian deaths have reportedly occurred since the protests began six weeks ago in response to a planned tax hike targeting the working class.

On Saturday, a newly branded militia group called the "National Patriotic Defense Team" - led by Tara "Hoggirl" Brandau - gathered in a Louisville Parking lot.
They say they weren't protesting, but rather on standby to "back up" law enforcement. The group claimed to be aware of "credible threats" that Louisville could encounter, but did not clarify further.
Community members including several livestreamers - some of them armed themselves - argued with the militia group about their purpose in being there. LMPD monitored the situation, which did not become violent.
The "National Patriotic Defense Team" had originally tried to block off the parking lot to people outside the organization, but after complaints, the police asked them to open the area up again.
The "Not F***ing Around Coalition" (NFAC) had declared in Louisville on July 25 that four weeks later, they would "burn the motherf***er down" if the police officers who killed Breonna Taylor had not been arrested by then. As of Saturday - precisely four weeks after July 25 - the officers had not been arrested, but the NFAC didn't return.
However, the NFAC has announced plans to come to Louisville on September 5, the day of the Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Derby will occur without a live audience.
The "National Patriotic Defense Team" has said they would also be present at the Kentucky Derby.
News2Share tentatively plans to cover whatever happens in Louisville on September 5.

The Healey International Relief Foundation has been aiding relief efforts in Sierra Leone since 2005. Following the Ebola outbreak, their efforts have been used more than ever to combat this epidemic. On Tuesday, September 16th, 2 prominent members of the Sierra Leone community were invited by Senator Tom Harkins to testify on a joint senate hearing about the Ebola Crisis in West Africa. Peter Konteh, Executive director of Caritas in Freetown, and Ismael Charles, former child solider of the Blood Diamonds war and HIRF ground project manager, spoke to the Senate about worsening economic, security, and health concerns and conditions in their homeland, Sierra Leone.
News2share's Taylor Kinzler had the opportunity to interview these gentlemen following their time on Capitol Hill this past week, and learn more about their efforts to increase awareness and relief efforts for the citizens of Sierra Leone.

“I really hope he gets in personally because I want abortion to stop," one student from Liberty University who came to the Capitol in the "Women for Kavanaugh" bus said. "Even if it turns out he’s guilty, I think I’m still gonna support him and hope he gets in because it’s our chance to end abortion.”
Another student chimed in to make clear that he generally believes survivors, but takes exception in the Ford case due to the testimony of other witnesses.

A coalition of pro-gun, conservative and libertarian activists gathered Monday at the Pennsylvania State Capital in Harrisburg to condemn gun control policies being considered by their state legislature and others being passed in the city of Pittsburgh.
Pennsylvania Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R) led the event, and announced his intentions of impeaching Democrat Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto over new gun regulations in their city, which he says violate state law.
Peduto signed legislation last month restricting what it defines as "assault weapons," banning armor-piercing bullets and allowing "red flag" seizures of firearms from people reported to law enforcement as potentially dangerous.
"It's indefensible for someone to say you are for women's rights but you're against gun rights," said Kelly Ann Pidgeon, founder of ARMED and Feminine, LLC. "My pro-choice is 'it's my body, it's my right to protect it with a gun.'"
"Our second amendment rights are just as precious as our first amendment right to free speech, if not more," added Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill. "Because we know that without the second amendment, there wouldn't be a first."
President of Gun Owners of America Erich Pratt spoke out against "Red Flag Laws" and described a case of someone being killed during a confiscation. A popular theme he picked up on is that many "RINO's" (Republican in Name Only) support them, which he condemned.
"If you are in support of the racist policies of gun control, you are no longer fit to serve," said "Black Gun Matter activist Maj Toure, who came wearing a sweatshirt that said, "All gun control is racist."
US Concealed Carry Association Tim Schmidt announced during his speech that a bill would soon be introduced to proposed "constitutional carry" policies in Pennsylvania.
After the rally, attendees split up into teams to confront state legislators on their positions about various pieces of pro and anti gun legislation.
