This is the control tests to demonstrate the testing method I am using in this series and how it compares with the "shaking" and longer time for the mix to settle. We get a surprising result from our apparent "E10" sample, but crucially are able to see what ethanol blended fuels look like in these tests, to determine which ones available on the market are still ethanol free.
I couple of booboos, I was supposed to say ethanol is made from corn alcohol and I mixed up saying "Tesco Momentum" with "Total Excellium."
Please SUBSCRIBE to see more petrols being tested, as well as some car servicing and repair videos. Please COMMENT if you have any questions about this video series or about NEXO (my referral link) whom I can't recommend enough and wish I'd used sooner.

I hope you're all enjoying your Christmas break and had a great time yesterday.. most importantly, lots of presents!
Our Boxing Day video for Christmas Car Chase is from Scream And Scream Again. Although I have it, I've never seen the whole film; I'll get around to it one day, but have seen the car chase featuring a very lovely 1955 Austin Healey 100/4 (which will do a real-world 100mph) being chased by police in a 1969 Jaguar S-Type--lagging behind is an Austin 1800.
Please SUBSCRIBE for more! I shall be uploaded videos for this series over the 12 days of Christmas as per last year. A couple of last year's videos were removed by YouTube sadly, but most are still there on the playlist and the removed ones can be seen on my Odysee channel (also Boilerhouse Garage on there).
Thanks for watching!

Welcome to Boilerhouse Garage. In today's video, we continue the series on the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST MK7.5 with a gearbox oil change, with discussion on which type and grade to use, as well as a regularly contested issue of the fill quantity and Ford's bizarre reluctance to give a straight answer.
If you're looking purely for the practical instructions, I have included timestamps so you can skip to the parts you need.

In this video, we're revisiting Shell V-Power which, along with Esso Supreme, I want to keep an eye on every 6 months or so to make sure they're still free of corn alcohol and suitable for classic vehicles. Due to a bit of a boob, there is a false alarm in this video.. watch to find out more!
A BIG THANK YOU to all my subscribers old and new. This video marks my 200 subscriber milestone. Over the coming days and weeks, I have a big backlog of videos to edit and compile, including a timing belt change, brake job, a couple of servicing vids, POV driving... watch this space!
Thanks for watching! Please SUBSCRIBE for more... as I've still got several brands to try and will retest the major ones as times goes on, just to see if the suppliers of ethanol eventually catch up with the ridiculous government mandate.

Welcome to the fourth video of the Boilerhouse Garage London-Brighton 2022 Classic Car Run. The Cavalier is entry number 152 and in this video we have left the Rural Life Living Museum in Tilford, near Farnham--where unfortunately about 3 minutes of real-time driving footage was corrupted, along with about another 3 minutes worth part-way through this section--and stop off at the Camelia Botnar Home and Garden Centre, between Cowfold and Littleworth in West Sussex. Camelia Botnar was the daughter of Octav Botnar, who established Datsun/Nissan UK in 1970.
Check out the previous videos of my trip to the Brooklands Museum, the trip between there and the Rural Life Museum.

In this video, we take a look at our second supermarket fuel brand, Sainsbury's, with samples of their Super Unleaded, marked as 97RON and E5; along with their Premium/Standard Unleaded, marked as 95RON and E10.
In the last video for Sainsbury's, we discovered their Super Unleaded contains ethanol, so we can see how it compares to Texaco, the only other Super Unleaded we found to contain ethanol and we also test both their E5 and E10 to see how much octane remains when the ethanol is extracted.
Please see the video testing the Sainsbury's petrols for their ethanol content:
Please SUBSCRIBE, like the video (if you did, or are feeling generous.. or perhaps even just sorry for me) and comment any questions or criticisms you may have.

A quick blast along the A40 and A424 which heads to the Fosseway, which is usually a long straight, easy-to-overtake road, but alas it was packed with roadworks and caravans.

I wasn't initially going to include the car and train chase from The French Connection, as despite the hype of it being one of the best in film, I remember seeing it and not being impressed; I found the driving appear sloppy, the car unimpressive (back then, looks quite cool now) Hackman's character constantly blaring the horn annoying, and the cuts to show what was happening on the train broke the pace--especially when he stops at the first station. Someone I know on Facebook mentioned it, so I thought I'd give it another chance with the mind to edit it (as per the others in this series) to make the chase seem more linear.
If you've seen these "Twelve Days/Chase" so far, you know the score. I'm editing these to make it more about the cars than acting or the storyline, so where possible, we skip the in-car acting and such and especially the in-between scenes which slow down this particular one.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!
