02b. Chromaticism in the Evolution of the Minor Scales
Discussed here are the ideas of blending the natural, harmonic and melodic minor scales together and how this engenders beaucoups chromaticism; how this blending allows for new chords to exist; how the Four Triads can now exist in completion; and a side note about the infamous Led Zepplin vs. Spirit lawsuit and how ridiculous it is. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkCOGsE_fk8

Happy holidays to one and all! James and I are taking a look at the White Album in general and specifically the lovely song, "I Will." One of a few things I forgot to mention in this podcast is that the twangy lick in I Will was lifted and used by The Cars in their song, "My Best Friend's Girl." This was a truly fun discussion. I look forward to another year of presenting more detailed looks into the brilliant music of the Fab Four.

I have here cued up a comparison of the lick in I Will to that of the Cars' My Best Friend's Girl:

A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
A looped version of the Beatles' 'You're Gonna Lose That Girl.' This was part of a now defunct project I was going to do. The plan was to loop one Beatles song per album chronologically and do it as a live performance.
