Keene Business Owner Targeted by City Gang for Retaliation over Speaking Against Parking Kiosks
As a business owner, few things are worse than having the attention of the people calling themselves “government”. Dorrie Masten, a local entrepreneur and property owner, knows this as well as anyone. As the owner of multiple properties and businesses including Keene Apartments and Pedraza’s Mexican Restaurant, Masten is no stranger to Keene’s ridiculous regulations. Unlike most business owners, she isn’t afraid to speak out publicly about how the Keene government gang has made her, her employees, and her customers’ lives more difficult.
The reason most business owners don’t speak out like Masten, is likely because they are understandably afraid they’ll be targeted for retaliation by the government people. According to a video posted to her facebook page yesterday, that’s exactly what’s happened to Masten since she publicly spoke against the parking kiosk that has been installed in front of her Mexican restaurant, Pedraza’s for about 18 months.
This year’s Porcupine Freedom Festival included an epic video of the NH tax collector trying and failing to crack down on unlicensed vendors, but that wasn’t the only interaction that Porcfest attendees had with police.
Several liberty activists made a “run for the border” and drove a couple hours from Lancaster, NH to Derby Line, VT which features the border crossing through the middle of the Haskell library. We wanted to see it for ourselves as well as attempting to cross on foot with various forms of identification.
Here’s a 24-minute short documentary covering what we saw and what we learned. In short, one can cross to Canada with only a driver’s license and despite what the US federal government claims, you don’t need a passport to cross back into the US, but they might hassle you. Also, Derby Line, VT and Stanstead, Quebec have been hurt economically by the border-tightening that happened around 2007. Derby Line’s commercial property is nearly completely empty, and several homes are on the market for sale. Stanstead is in somewhat better shape.
Who would want to live where most of the cars on the streets are Border Patrol vehicles? That’s life in the ghost town of Derby Line, a microcosm of what will happen to the United States if the borders continue to tighten – freedom and the economy will suffer.

Carla Gericke is the President of the Free State Project and is such a great keynote speaker we brought her back for Keenevention 2014! This year her speech compared today’s activism to the 1960s. What we can learn from activists in the past?

It’s been in the cryptocurrency news over the last several weeks, but many do not know what the world’s first-ever “Hash War” is all about. Thankfully Bitcoin Embassy New Hampshire is now here and Head Ambassador Chris Rietmann scheduled an event that happened yesterday afternoon to talk about it.
What is the history of the conflict brewing between rival factions of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) community, and what might happen in the all out “Hash War” that’s supposedly to begin this morning at just before high noon today (11/15), Eastern time? If you watch the video, you’ll find out all we know.

I was nearly arrested today at the new superior court building while doing jury nullification outreach for the first time in 2014 and also the first time at the new building. In the several year history of doing jury outreach at the court, we've never had any real issues, but that's because we never went inside the court building to conduct the outreach. That's what set them off today, as they clearly want to protect their new territory from those darn activists who always want to exercise their rights, in this case, freedom of speech.
After I'd successfully handed out a couple dozen NHJury.com fliers in the superior court lobby, court security officer Bob Tebo approached, accused me of "soliciting" and called the sheriffs. I then called up Darryl who was doing "Don't Take the Plea Deal" outreach the floor below at district court to come record and witness the coming threats. (Darryl had no similar issues with district court's more professional security staff, by the way.) While waiting, I continued to hand out fliers.
Sheriff's deputy Shanks arrived with another of the grumpy court security officers. He claims the judge says there's no passing stuff out inside the courthouse. I continue to stand my ground and hand out fliers so Shanks leaves to further consult with the robed man. He returns after a few minutes and begs me to leave. I opt to exit since he asks nicely and says please, but I request the judge's order in writing. I give Shanks my card and ask him to send me the order when it's ready. We'll see if I ever hear from him. Stay tuned to FreeKeene.com for the latest.
