Battletech - Urban Warfare | Whiskey Six - Episode 34 | Mellowseven Let's Play
Harebrained Schemes have released 2 DLCs and numerous improvements since the last time I played Battletech seriously. So we are going to play through the standard sandbox career mode to experience the Flash Points and Urban Warfare DLC. We are going to keep the game unmodded and just do a vanilla play-through.
My initial plan is to build a lance of highly mobile, jump capable mechs piloted by mechwarriors specialized in the Piloting skill. This is an ironman save with friendly mech destruction and pilot death enabled.

Starfield is out and I finally jump into it. This is a blind playthrough (at least at first) as I haven't been watching any gameplay or tips videos to this point. I have been eagerly waiting this one and am excited to finally be able to play it!

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a CRPG based on the Pathfinder pen and paper franchise. Pathfinder itself, is essentially a fork of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. The CRPG had real-time with pause combat at launch. Recently a mod came out that converted the game to turn-based. Despite the fact that players have been asking for turn-based combat since before the game launched the developers ignored their customer base right up until the mod came out and was very popular. (imagine that) It single handedly restored interest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The developers decided they really wanted to get credit for this new interest in the game and so they finally caved and added turn-based combat into Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The patch adding this content is still in Beta and so there may be some bugs. The game launched about 2 years ago and despite being finished is still very much unpolished. The developers are still actively bug squashing but they are paying the price for a complete lack of any thing even resembling quality control before the launch. I've played many early access games with better fit and finish than Pathfinder has two years after launch. (Banners of Ruin is one such that I played and posted a video on just a couple of days before this series went up.) So expect bugs.
Pathfinder does support modding. We will not be using any mods on this save as I feel that the beta branch we are playing on is risky enough for recording purposes. We will be playing the Varnhold's Lot storyline mission which was added in as DLC and can tie into the main storyline campaign if you so wish. The basic premise is that we are part of a mercenary company that took the Swordlords up on their offer and carved out one of the three Baronies they were offering to support. Our primary character is an advisor to the Baron rather than the Baron himself. As such we have less control over the path of the story but hopefully don't have to deal with any of the realm control mechanics of the game (which i hated at launch but have subsequently been updated. i haven't had the energy to try them since then however.)

Warhammer 40k: BattleSector has a new DLC out that adds Necrons to the game as well as a new campaign mode, Planetary Supremacy! In the Planetary Supremacy campaign you attempt to conquer a planet while fighting over 20 map hexes, each of which gives your army a bonus of some kind. The campaign is the Blood Angels vs. the Tyranids vs. the Necron. You pick the one you want and your difficulty level and away you go. Each turn gives you two action points to spend. You can use these points to attack a map section or to reinforce your army. Each army is allowed a certain number of units and a certain point level that you must stay under. You build your army and fight your way across the planet! Combat is turn based with each unit getting movement points and action points. Let's jump in and try out the Tryanids on Lieutenant difficulty.

FM18 | PFK Montana - GM Challenge | Mellowseven Let's Play
This is a series I am really excited about. Let me set the stage for you. Our hero is an ex-professional football player who was forced to play abroad in Europe because of the lack of lower league association football in the United States. He ended up playing for PFK Montana in Bulgaria and was part of the team that won promotion to Bulgarias premeire league, the Parva Liga and managed to stay up for 3 years. Since then he has retired and moved into coaching. After paying his dues while working his way up the coaching ladder, Mellow Seven has returned to Bulgaria to relive his glory days and take over the reins of PFK Montana. The club is was just relegated back down to the Vtora Liga, but with Mellow Sevens return the fans are again dreaming of Parva Liga glory.
The catch... there is always a catch... is that while the board are happy to sell more tickets by hiring on a past hero to manage the team they don't really trust his business acumen. After all, he is a football player, and football players are not know for their brilliant minds. And so they hired a General Manager and have given him full control over the roster and non-coaching staff. Mellow can pick his own coaches but that is the extent of hiring/firing power that he controls. He must take the roster given to him and work within that framework, never knowing if his star player is about to be sold or if a new one will be bought.
This is our Return to Glory - GM Challenge with PFK Montana in the Bulgarian Vtora Liga. Welcome.

Partisans 1941 is the newest game from the developer Alter Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment. It was released on Steam on Oct 14, 2020. This videos were recorded on Launch day and as of writing this on Oct 16th, it has received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam.
The events of Partisans 1941 take place behind the German lines on the Eastern Front during WW2. The game utilizes a real time combat system with a "bullet time" slow down rather than a full pause. The developers call this a "tatical pause." Partisans is a small unit tactics game with heavy stealth elements. It also includes some base building and resource management and crafting in between the combat missions. Partisans 1941 uses a top down, 3/4 view with a free moving camera.
But is it any good? Let's find out and dive in with our First Look at Partisans 1941!
