Description
This piece paints the picture of a meditation on a hillside, in which the one who is meditating gradually feels himself being enveloped by the land. In this process of becoming one with the setting, the meditation brings about visions and sounds that allow one to see the fibers that make up the reality that we see on a daily basis. This infinite network of fibers makes up the physical reality around us. If we put the energy from our dreams into the energy of these fibers, we can see our dreams manifest before us in time.

Here's a laid back little impromptu that was made using the Neutrinode node-based sequencer from Sha#Bang! and the macro oscillators from Audible Instruments. The visualizations are from the Project M module in the RPJ library.

It's time to take all of the synthesizer & effect modules that we have been making in this series to the next level by completing the modular system. In this episode, we make an input module and an output module with recording capabilities so that we can use the modules like a Eurorack system. Pure Data allows one to load patches as abstractions into other patches and use them like modules that can be mixed and matched. We do exactly that int his episode. We can now take our granular synthesizer and our tape looper and utilize them with the delay and ring modulation effect modules in a Eurorack-like system that can record to file.

In this episode we look at hover vessel construction and what would be a good hover vessel design for a starter vessel in Empyrion. Wayfarer shows a lot of the features in creative mode and how one can not only design a hover vessel, but also, make a blueprint of it for spawning into the game as well as for sharing in the workshop on Steam. All of the beginning items that are useful in a starter hover vessel are discusses, such as the generator, RCS, cargo box, container controller, container extension, armor locker, small constructor, thrusters, hover engine, detector, fridge, cockpit, nd more. Wayfarer also discusses the strategies for using the hover vessel as well as the uses of the drill and the harvester. Considerations about CPU, mass, volume, and power usage are also discussed.

There are a few modules int he mscHack brand within the overall VCV Rack community library that are great for making ambient rhythms. In this episode we see how to use the 32 Step accent sequencer that has 16 program slots with the clock generator from mscHack. We use this sequencer to drive the percussion module that has tones and noise that can be sculpted into ambient percussion sounds. Additionally, we look at the Windz and Dronez modules that create wind sounds and intriguing drone timbres respectively. We look at various configurations using the mixers and the delay modules from this library as well. These are great free tools for making ambient rhythms and patterns.

Digging a mine is a necessary rite of passage in Wurm. One will need to acce ores for the crafting of many items. It takes a while to dig a mine, but using some techniques shown in this video will be very helpful in saving time and making the whole process easier. As always, there is a lot of other information in this video that is concerned with starting off in the game.

This is a 1 hour sound experience that is most effective when using headphones to benefit from the use of binaural beats to achieve a delta brain wave state. The visualization is primarily for ambient lighting if necessary. While pleasing to look at, relaxation, meditation, and sleep are best achieved without staring at a screen. Using the visuals as distant lighting is preferred. This piece utilizes synthesized ocean waves to help relax the mind and help in achieving a slow, rhythmic breathing pattern. Although, the waves should not be rigidly followed when breathing. The binaural beating is used to invite the two hemispheres of the brain to synchronize in a delta state of brain wave activity, which is most conducive for sleep, but can also be used for deep meditation so long as consciousness is maintained. Finally, synthesized musical tones are utilized to simultaneously lull the mind into a more peaceful state while also stimulating a meridian response.
Tools Utilized
- The Main software environment for the sound and video generation is VCV Rack: https://vcvrack.com
- In addition to VCV modules, the mixing and equalization was performed using the MindMeld modules: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=MindMeld&tag=&license=
- Compression was integrated in the mixing process using the compressor from Squinky Labs: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=Squinky+Labs&tag=&license=
- The overall mix was compressed using the compressor from mscHack, and automation and clocking of parameters on the Synth ASMR tones was also done using modules from mscHack: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=mscHack&tag=&license=
- The Synth ASMR tones were generated using the Macro Oscillator from Audible Instruments: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=Audible+Instruments&tag=&license=
- Sequencing of pitches for the ASMR tones was achieved using NutriNode from Sha#Bang!: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=Sha%23Bang%21+Modules&tag=&license=
- The visualizations were generated using the Project M module called LowF Fat Milk from the RPJ module set: https://library.vcvrack.com/?query=&brand=RPJ&tag=&license=
- The specific visualization used is "wreck diver nz+ liquidity" by martin & mandlebox explorer
