http://TrinityDigitalMedia.com/church-tech On today's Tech Help for Churches, YouTube Censorship and Your Church
The other day, I happened upon a link that got me thinking (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_of_YouTube), what if you built an audience on YouTube or used YouTube live-streaming and then there was a problem...international people could no longer see what you upload.
[tweet "YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, but that comes with some down sides, like this one:"]
It may sound far-fetched or it may sound like something that would only affect the most backward of countries, but that's not the case.

On YouTube, analytics help you know who is watching your videos, where they live, how long they watch, etc. By checking your analytics, you can improve your videos.
I know because of mine that most of my audience is male, aged 18-54. I also know that they live in the US and watch (on average) for about 4 minutes per video.

http://TrinityDigitalMedia.com/thfc On today's Tech Help for Churches, Podcasting: Where to host your RSS feed
This is actually a long running debate between the two oldest podcast media hosts. On one side, Blubrry says that you should retain control of your RSS feed. On the other, Libsyn says, too much can go wrong to risk self-hosting it. Who's right? It depends.
[tweet "Should you host your RSS feed on your website or with your media host? It depends:"]
Your RSS feed is arguably one of the most important things in your podcast. If it goes horribly wrong, your show is dead. So, depending on an expert to generate and host it is a good thing, but if the host makes it hard to leave, that's a bad thing.

By default, no Bibles come with ProPresenter 5. That's okay though. Installing them is pretty easy.
Download the .dmg file, mount it, and then double-click the .pkg file to install.

http://trinitydigitalmedia.com/church-tech On today's Tech Help for Churches: Free Podcast Media Hosts and Their Limitations
The ideal podcast host would have a business model that pays for it, be free, have unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, and not rename, not reencode, and not delete your files (after a certain time).
While I prefer Libsyn and Blubrry, they aren't free. So if free is a deal breaker, what about hosts like Podomatic, Buzzsprout, and PodcastGarden?
They each fail one of the test, so you just have to decide which is the best one for you.

On today’s ProPresenter Show (brought to you by ChurchTechU.com), why you should not use ProPresenter’s live video feature to put live video on your screen.
One of the questions I get over and over and over again is how to use the live video feature in ProPresenter.
I always advise against using it. The right way to do it is to take the output of ProPresenter and send it into a video switcher. The reason you don’t want to use ProPresenter like a video switcher is latency.
According to an article I found on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio-to-video_synchronization), the standard for latency between audio and video for broadcast television is 45 milliseconds or about 1-1.5 frames (at 30 frames a second). It also said that most people don’t notice lag until 100 milliseconds or more (which is about 3.3 frames).
