“There is a body of socio-economic truth that incorporates the best insights of both capitalism and socialism. This ‘middle way’ is the philosophy of Henry George.” ~ Robert V. Andelson
Progress and Poverty, An Inquiry into the Cause of Industrial Depressions and of Increase of Want With Increase of Wealth, is the 1879 book and magnum opus of economist Henry George (1839-1897) who is best known for popularizing the ‘Single Tax’ movement, a radical proposal to shift all taxes on production towards a single tax upon the unimproved value of land (or ‘Land Value Tax’).
This audiobook is taken from the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Edition of Progress and Poverty, containing both a foreword by Henry George Jr., and the preface from the Fourth Print Edition.
