Zaitsevo, a front-line village north of Gorlovka, in the north of the Donetsk People's Republic, has been extremely hard-hit by Ukrainian shelling, since 2014. What was once a village of 3,500, with a school & kindergarten, is now a shell of a village, with at most 1,000 residents, most of whom don't stay in the village, but come for brief visits & retreat to relative safety in Gorlovka,a city likewise heavily shelled, including with HIMARs on November 12.
Not far away, in Golmovsky, I spoke with some of the residents who remain. One told me he'd fled his own town, Dolomoti, NE of Golmovsky, which he said was destroyed by Ukrainian shelling, and has lost three homes, burned down after Ukrainian shelling. He said they were evicted from Dolomoti in 2019, and in 2020, Ukraine completely destroyed the village, “every single house”.
He collected money to rent an apartment in Golmovsky, “but three days ago it was hit. I just bought it, and it was already hit. They don't consider us humans. They say it on tv, that we are not human. In 2019, 2020, they told us they don't consider us human and if they enter this place there would be nobody left, they'd annihilate us.”
These are but glimpses of the horror Donbass civilians have been living since Ukraine began shelling them in 2014. Complicit media, with blood on their hands, claim this isn't happening. The people being bombed beg to differ.

Daraa streets last week (September 17). When I visited in May, the city was being shelled by "moderate" terrorists of the sort now in Idlib.
Like Aleppo, Ghouta, Homs, Madaya, and elsewhere there've been liberations or reconciliation deals, peace returns when terrorists leave, and the cleanup process, a long one, can begin.

School in Dara'a targeted by more than 50 mortars, from terrorists just 150 metres away. Many children have been killed in these attacks, I was told. The road I stood on taking the photo is in line of potential terrorist snipers. Around the corner, locals were walking quickly, half-running, from the shelling nearby. On the same street, over 40 people have been killed, including a man 5 days ago, I was told. 200 metres down the road were terrorists, so no lingering.
A few minutes drive away, including at high speed down a road exposed to terrorist sniping from less than 100 metres away, the national hospital, itself battered and partially destroyed from terrorists mortars. The director showed me destroyed wards (dialysis and laboratory wards), and off-limits areas die to high risk of sniping (gynecology, operations, blood bank, nursing school, children's hospital).
Before leaving, I saw a dark plume of smoke from a freshly landed mortar at the court. Earlier we had discussed going to the court, as it was one of the sites targeted by "unarmed protesters" in early 2011. Had we taken less time at the hospital, might have gone there. Good thing we didn't have time...

Early last week, Turkey, Syria & surrounding countries experienced a series of earthquakes & aftershocks which tragically struck Syria and Turkey the hardest, killing over 35,000 people now, including over 4,300 in Syria.
Syria has already suffered over a decade of the West's devastating war on the Syrian people. Now this tragedy.
I spoke with Marwa Osman to discuss the impact of the West's cruel anti-Syrian sanctions on the current rescue & relief efforts in Syria. Marwa is a Lebanese journalist, political commentator, host & producer of the Mideast Stream, and a university lecturer.
“It's already devastating in Syria because of the cumulative effect of the sanctions. Before the earthquakes, the sanctions worked on three specialized levels:
The first level is on the financial institutions in Syria that are directly linked to the government. If you want to wire money from outside of Syria to any bank in Syria, it has to go through the central bank of Syria, which has been sanctioned since the early days of the war. Which means if you want to transfer & wire money to the people affected by the earthquake to their bank accounts in Syria, you can't, because its still under sanctions...
The second level: the health sector in Syria. The sanctions are on everything within the governmental institutions in Syria, one of which is the Ministry of Health, which controls all of the health sector in Syria. Syria does have privatized hospitals, but majorly all of the hospitals in Syria are controlled by the government, because everyone has the right to have medical care in Syria. By doing these sanctions on all institutions related to the Syrian government, you by default sanction the health sector in Syria.
Third: sanctioning any country that deals with the Syrian government, whether buying selling products, especially medical products or machinery needed for reconstruction, ambulances...You're not allowed to deal with Syria or you will be sanctioned...If you have the right technology, you can detect whether there are people under the rubble. Syria isn't even allowed to buy this technology, because of the sanctions.”

This June, one day after he went public to Syrian and other press (not Western corporate) in Aleppo, I spoke directly with the father of the unwilling icon dubbed 'the boy in the ambulance'.
What Mohammad Daqneesh told me starkly contrasted the corporate media AND White Helmet narratives on his son Omran and alleged airstrikes. These narratives were meant to vilify both Syrian and Russian governments, the reality was that neither were to blame for the very light injuries he and Omran received in August 2016, and that there was no airstrike on their home that night as otherwise alleged by the al-Qaeda affiliated White Helmets and corporate media.

Ukraine has committed untold numbers of war crimes in its over eight years of bombing the civilians of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, including routinely targeting ambulances, fire trucks, medics, rescuers, and their headquarters and stations. Many of the times Ukraine bombs such heroic rescuers, it is when they are on the way, or already on site, to help civilians often themselves also just bombed by Ukraine.
Early morning September 1, Ukraine targeted DPR Emergency Services in the village of Rubtsy, Krasnolymansky district, killing 13 personnel and wounding 9 more. [https://t.me/dpr_mfa/704 ]
Targeting medics and other rescuers is a typical, criminal, policy of the aggressor, to ensure those in need of help are deprived of it, to ensure that people who might have been rescued instead die of their injuries.
The intentional targeting of ambulances and other emergency services vehicles and workers is against international law. It is something Israeli forces do routinely to Palestinian medics & rescuers, and which terrorists in Syria did to rescuers of the real Syria Civil Defence. Same terrorist tactics.
