Tranquilo e central, este distrito é, juntamente com o distrito Clausen e o Pfaffenthal, um dos mais autênticos e charmosos da cidade do Luxemburgo.
Localizado na parte baixa da cidade, segue o rio Pétrusse, que se une ao Alzette (Uelzecht).

PT// As paisagens entre as localidades no Luxemburgo são belíssimas com campos de perder de vista interrompidos por pequenas casas, igrejas e castelos. Nesta altura de inverno, com as árvores "despidas" realça o verde das culturas por vezes pintado de branco do gelo que se acumulava.
Acompanhados pelas belas cores do por-do-sol efetuámos a viagem entre Beaufort e Larochette, passando pelas localidades de Waldbillig e Christnach.

Batizado de Castrum Novum (Castelo Novo) para distingui-lo dos antigos Castel dell'Ovo e Castel Capuano, foi concluído em 1282, tornando-se um ponto de encontro popular entre os principais intelectuais e artistas da época. O arco triunfal renascentista de dois andares na entrada - a Torre della Guardia - comemora a entrada vitoriosa de Alfonso I de Aragão em Nápoles em 1443.
EN// For those arriving by cruise to Naples this 13th century castle is almost the gateway. Christened the Castrum Novum (New Castle) to distinguish it from the older Castel dell'Ovo and Castel Capuano, it was completed in 1282, becoming a popular hang-out for the leading intellectuals and artists of the day. The two-storey Renaissance triumphal arch at the entrance – the Torre della Guardia – commemorates the victorious entry of Alfonso I of Aragon into Naples in 1443.
