Don't you remember the old country church? It is so typical that they believe, teach and preach the King James Bible, sing those time-tested hymns of revival, practice the Christian handshake, have an old-fashioned mourner's bench, regular revival services and an invitation to come to know Jesus as Lord. You still hear people shouting and praising God and getting happy in the Spirit. Some services get longer than expected and they never get to preaching because of all the testifying. But most of all, they believe in an experimental knowledge of salvation. A true heartfelt experience of a conversion from a sinful nature to the grace of God. He was a Baptist missionary to China and later officer in the Army Air Force. He was killed by Chinese communists 10 days after the end of World War II. John Birch came to China as a Baptist missionary but as WWII intensified he joined the Army Air Force and worked as an intelligence officer to rescue US troops and guide planes. As a soldier he continued his work in preaching, witnessing and ministering the gospel. John befriended and loved the Chinese people.
