Happy holidays to one and all! James and I are taking a look at the White Album in general and specifically the lovely song, "I Will." One of a few things I forgot to mention in this podcast is that the twangy lick in I Will was lifted and used by The Cars in their song, "My Best Friend's Girl." This was a truly fun discussion. I look forward to another year of presenting more detailed looks into the brilliant music of the Fab Four.

During a long hiatus between rehearsals what with the ongoing panic-demic, Chris (Cav) our lead singer, lost his mom to cancer. The lyric is reflective of the process he went through. Another song, "Jacaranda Bloom," is in loving memory of her as well. The chord changes and the general arrangement were Mike Novitch's creation. We put our heads together to come up with an arrangement and some extra chord changes in some sections. During the breakdown, for example, I found the progression was reminiscent of a song I'd written for a band I was in in the early 90's. I took that little bit and added it in there.

A discussion around the song Two Of Us, with a science fiction surprise at the beginning of the video. The two of us, that is James Corbett and myself, look at the history around the song, the Let It Be project in general, including the film, and of course the music theory behind the chord movement. While it's really a very simple song, there's always plenty to discuss when it comes to the Beatles!

aka 'Kimmie's Christmas Song,' written for a girlfriend at the time. She didn't like being called Kimmie so I changed the name to 'Noel.' The song intentionally has a Christmasy vibe. The opening strains of the song are meant to emulated the sound of church bells. It's also meant to capture that hopeful, cheerful and humane feeling that some people feel around the holiday season. So, Merry Christmas!
