Bixler 2 FPV: New PB distance 2.5km with FrSky 2.4 control
I've been having a run of bad luck flying planes recently, with the radio then the VTX crapping out. So although this flight went well for video and control, the Bix kept pitching down, and I couldn't figure out why. Part of the reason I stopped at the 2.5km (when it would have been interesting to see how much further she would have gone) is that I wasn't happy in the way she was flying. At home I discovered that the control horn on the elevator was pulling loose... which explains a lot.
I was really happy to get great video and control at this distance though. bignose13 made me a 5 turn 5.8 helical as well which I'm looking forward to testing at some point ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSvmEowOCD4
At a recent meet the 3 of us with Hornets attempted to take each other out mid-air.
Usually mid-airs happen at least once in a meet, and usually by accident... unless iPeel is involved as he's a complete menace. It's really hard to hit another fast moving wing on purpose though.
The Hornet wing is made by flyingwings.co.uk it's a nice easy build and fun to fly - but it really does prefer a calm day

The FuriBee X215 Pro was a great flying BNF quad out of the box, with just a slight issue with the loose camera fitting. So let's fix that, stick a GoPro on it and see how it performs.

The Happymodel Mobula7 is one of the new 2S "whoop" style quads providing a serious upgrade in power from the normal 1S machines... but is 2s in a tiny quad too much power ?
This was supplied by Banggood for review, so here's an (affiliate) link to the product https://www.banggood.com/Happymodel-Mobula7-75mm-Crazybee-F3-Pro-OSD-2S-Whoop-FPV-Racing-Drone-w-700TVL-Camera-BNF-p-1357971.html?p=E81211714085201408XQ&utm_campaign=714085&utm_content=3312

I've got a lot of comments asking about where to find the little jumped like the one I used. If you don't have one in an old hard drive or a receiver, then check your local ebay. Here's a UK based one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-x-PCB-Pin-Header-Jumper-Links-2-54mm-Motherboard-Cap-Black-UK-Free-Postage-/131439765750?_trksid=p5731.m3795 you can get them in quantities of 200 from China for the sale price, but if you are in a different country then use the keywords in the sale I've linked to so you can find them in your local eBay store (or something similar)
The basic version just contains the single USB charger, so it's well worth spending just a little more for the standard version to get the 6-way charger.

This is the "C" route ending to Outrun 2 on the Xbox. On the route map for Outrun 2, the final destinations are labelled from top to bottom : A to E. A is the easiest route, and it gets progressively harder down to E.

Today we're using the Öchìn board to fly with Open.HD on a wing. This video has been quite some time in the making because of various setup issues I had, so let me run you past everything we found and how we fixed them.
If you want an Öchìn board, you can now buy one direct from Seeed who are making it on behalf of Flavio: https://www.seeedstudio.com/Ochin-Tiny-Carrier-Board-for-Raspberry-Pi-Compute-Module-4-p-5463.html
For more instructions on setup, schematics on how to build your own board, and STL files for 3D printable parts, check out the Öchìn GitHub page here https://github.com/ochin-space/ochin-CM4

It's slightly smaller and lighter than the wonderful RunCam Micro Swift, and it has a 16:9 sensor, so how does it perform ?
Disclaimer: I did pay for this myself, but at a discounted price from RunCam. My opinions are always my own, but I encourage you to always be skeptical and seek other opinions.
I picked up my Micro Sparrow from RunCam here http://shop.runcam.com/runcam-micro-sparrow/
You can also get it from one of their official partners like Banggood (as it gives me the excuse to post an affiliate link :-o )

In my previous Open.HD videos I've just done bench testing, so in this video, I'll actually be using it on a model. Moving beyond the theory into practice so to speak. There's always far more scope for things to go wrong :)
You can find out lots more useful things for Open.HD in their project page https://github.com/OpenHD/Open.HD
There's is lots of great stuff on the wiki pages https://github.com/OpenHD/Open.HD/wiki make that your first port of call if you want to put a system together.
This project isn't part of a review series or sponsored by anyone (although I did get the Zeus F7 flight controller and GPS/Compass for free from HGLRC so below are a few (affiliate) links to check out their stuff)
