Unreal Multiplayer ARPG #17 - Darksouls destructible objects.
Hey Everyone. Today we are celebrating over 50 subscribers so i got a new mic! :) I know my sound quality was shitty before so hopefully its a little bit better now. Edit: I now realise that i had the mic way too close :) will fix in the next video.
In this episode i will show you how to replicate the destructible objects in the same way as they work in Darksouls. So you will be able to attack and roll over your crates, tables, benches and whatever you like to destroy, As always everything is networked.

Part 3 of my Multiplayer darksouls inspired Combat system tutorial. In this part we go through Double jumping with a different jumping animation for the second jump aswell as adding a jumping attack that can only be done while we are in the air. I also improve the combo attack system by adding animnotifiers to disable attacks if we are already attacking.
EDIT: If you are having problems getting a root motion animation to work on the "Z- axis" the solution is to set the movement mode to flying for the duration of the animation and then back to "walking" again.

Edit: I completely forgot to actually replicate the stances. To make it work for multiplayer, all you have to do us to set your "attack_UP", "attack_Left" , "attack_right" and "canChangeStance " variables and set them to be replicated :)

Episode 20: Lets start with the fun combat stuff :) I will show you how to apply damage from melee weapon to the the hit actors using tracing.
In this series we dig deeper into multiplayer blueprints by creating a Free Action RPG game from scratch using only free assets! The series is more intended for intermediate unreal users as i might sometimes have a hard time to explain everything. But with that said i do intend to make it as beginner friendly as possible so that everyone can follow along. I will also use free assets as far as i can and we will cover a lot of what the engine has to offer.
It will be inspired by dark souls and other souls likes but i will also try to show you ways to make it more generic to fit more classical RPG and fantasy gameplay a swell.
