Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) {Part 5} - Dragon's Peak to Tozus (Gnome village)
So much for this being a shorter video! Hehe. Fairly straight forward going up the Dragon's Peak, but some of the birds there can turn you to stone, so you have to watch out for that. Other than that, the quest continues!
This system is WAY easier than Circe. Had it not been for dumb luck, I would have beat this mission on the first try. Maybe had I brought a better wingman...
Almost exactly the same as the other bad ending only with Eleanor sparing Sophia Lamb for some reason. If she had gone all dark jedi, you'd think she would have been a little harsher on her or something.
Another difficult mission made more frustrating that it crashed the whole game every time I died. I guess it's a good thing I only died a couple of times then. Anyway, you really just need to focus on staying alive rather than protecting the William Tell. Those guys do the dirty work of taking out the enemy capital ship for you. It's like the fighter escort doesn't care that their ship is getting shot at.
I redid this section of the game since my original recording had some pretty bad audio issues. I think my new settings are going to give me the best audio and visual results. There's still some screen tearing here and there, but it seems to be lessened quite a bit now. It's mostly cut-scenes that seem to have the screen tearing issues as far as recording is concerned. The game is just fine.
First mission in the Brimstone system is a doozy. I died probably a good 5 or 6 times before finally making it through. This video makes it look like I didn't struggle that much, but don't let that fool you. This has to have the funniest briefing ever though. Hehe.
Finally this campaign is completed. Funny thing about this mission is that I completed it on my first run. Using the game's mechanics against itself, if you leave a couple of Krant's alive during your attack on the Sivar, all of the other waves of reinforcements never show up leaving you time to blow it out of the sky. Good thing too because my wingman abandoned me during my attack on the Sivar. Once you finally get to fly a Rapier, this expansion pack gets a lot less frustrating. Not without its challenges, for sure, but definitely less frustrating.
Quick video showing my DOSBox settings for Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi. Only a few changes, but the Sound Blaster IRQ is the most important one if you don't want your game to lock up.
