Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein—who has been living on Donald Trump’s death row for more than a year—moved a whole cellblock closer to the gallows on Friday after the New York Times dropped this news-cycle cleansing scoop: The piece alleges that in May 2017 he discussed surreptitiously recording the president and raised using the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. At press time, Rosenstein had not been given his last meal or last rites, but the story and the follow-ups by other press hounds have given Trump every pretext he might need to terminate the man who oversees special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s Russia investigation.
Rosenstein was livid at Trump in the administration’s early and often chaotic days. As the authors of Friday’s exposé, Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt, previously wrote for their paper in June, Rosenstein felt the president used him to justify the firing of FBI director James B. Comey, and was vocally angry at the White House about the way it bruised his reputation. “According to one person with whom he spoke shortly after Mr. Comey’s firing, Mr. Rosenstein was ‘shaken,’ ‘unsteady’ and ‘overwhelmed,’” the Times reporters wrote back then.
There’s little chance the new Times story was somehow “planted” by the White House to give Trump a ginned up reason to stage another Saturday Night Massacre. Goldman told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Friday night that the piece has taken “months to report.” Its findings have also been buttressed by the Washington Post, which in some ways expands on it. According to the Post, two FBI officials—then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and his senior counsel, Lisa Page—wrote contemporaneous memos in May 2017 reporting that “Rosenstein suggested candidates interviewing for the FBI job should wear a recording device to memorialize their discussions with the president.” McCabe’s memo also mentions Rosenstein’s invocation of the 25th Amendment to corral Trump (Page’s doesn’t). Most spectacularly, Rosenstein seems to have believed that he could enlist both his boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and then-Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly in his 25th Amendment caper.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T When then-candidate Donald Trump was running for office, one of his primary promises to potential voters was that he would jump-start the economy to such an extent that there would be a resurgence in manufacturing jobs and the nation’s gross domestic product growth rate would meet and exceed 4 or 5 percent.
Of course, all of the economic “experts” and media pundits scoffed at the notion and insisted that manufacturing jobs were gone for good and a 1-2 percent GDP growth rate was the “new normal” that everyone should get used to.
Then-President Barack Obama even got in on the act, famously dismissing Trump’s vows during a PBS townhall event in 2016 as being something that was utterly impossible to achieve, without the use of some sort of nonexistent “magic wand.”
After again reiterating the narrative that “some of those jobs from the past just aren’t gonna come back,” Obama tried to throw cold water on Trump’s promises.

President Trump has nurtured a dangerous hatred for the free press among his followers, with his constant screeching about “fake news” pushing millions of Americans to untether from reality completely and instead embrace demonstrable falsehoods and comforting lies.
The effects of this epistemological crisis are certain to be far-reaching and disastrous in the long-term but already we are seeing the first of them take hold.
A recent meme shared by Trump HUD official Lynne Patton on her Instagram perfectly encapsulates the deep mess the country currently finds itself in. As CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski points out, Patton shared an image stating that Anderson Cooper faked a shot for Hurricane Florence by standing in deep water.
In reality, the image of Cooper is from his 2008 reportage on Hurricane Ike, not Florence, and he was standing in that spot to specifically demonstrate how water after a hurricane can be deceptively deep. There was nothing misleading about Cooper’s bit.
Patton either couldn’t be bothered to do a cursory search to see if the meme was factual, or she was taking a page out of Trump’s playbook by deliberately lying. Neither is acceptable behavior for a government official and the issue becomes legitimately terrifying when you game out the possible effects.

Underwood has been with Sunday Night Football since 2013, she writes and sings the opening song which many have grown to love. However, when she debuted a new version of the song last night for the first Sunday night game of the year fans were left shaking their heads.
Sometimes when change comes to sporting events people can be a little overly critical, because after all, football is all about tradition. And When Carrie Underwood didn’t sing the line, “OHHHH Sunday Night!” Fans had a lot to say.

Andrew Gillum and Ron DeSantis are essentially tied in the latest poll of the Florida governor’s race, which could be tightening amid the contentious Supreme Court confirmation hearings playing out in Washington.
Gillum’s 1-point lead is well within the Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey’s error-margin of 3.5 percentage points, and it’s smaller than 10 other public polls of Florida’s governor’s race. All but one of the polls showed Gillum’s lead inside their error margin.
Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker said the difference between his poll and other recent surveys is that his was taken from Sept. 24 through Sept. 27, the height of the confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh.
“Monday through Thursday, there were lots of Kavanaugh fireworks,” said Coker, who conducted the survey for Leadership Florida, which hosts an Oct. 24 gubernatorial debate. “If you take the other polls, it could suggest Republicans might be more fired up than Democrats.”

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T We might never understand why American companies oppose our own values.
But yet again, we’ve learned that a major company is throwing money at gun control laws.
Much like Dick’s Sporting Goods and other retailers, this company is trying to prevent Americans from getting access to firearms. And they think they can spend large amounts of money to make it happen.
But in this case, I think they’re going to be disappointed.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T Benghazi is one of the most infuriating and disgraceful chapters in Hillary Clinton’s and Barack Obama’s tenure in office. Justice was never done there and many, many Americans are still incensed over it. Four Americans died in that attack on Septemeber 11, 2012 and we are still waiting for answers. The attack in Benghazi, Libya took place in two waves at the consulate and lasted several hours.
Jason Chaffetz left political office as a Utah congressman and is now a contributor with Fox News. Chaffetz was one of the first US representatives to go to Benghazi after that horrific terrorist attack. On Fox News, he slammed Obama for calling Benghazi a “wild conspiracy theory” and he explained the horrible way that the Obama administration treated the Benghazi heroes.
Not only did both Clinton and Obama lie and blame the Benghazi attack on a video, they are now trying to rewrite history on the matter. Chaffetz called Obama out for failing to protect the people at the mission and the CIA compound.
From Fox News Insider:
“He said Obama failed to protect the Americans stationed at the Benghazi compound and he failed to act in the aftermath of the deadly attack, and now he cannot “rewrite history.”
