Toronto police were called in to break up a heated altercation in the city’s gay village Tuesday night after members of a religious group clashed with members of the LGBTQ community.
Police responded to a call about a disturbance in the Church and Wellesley neighbourhood shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Video of the incident posted online shows pastor David Lynn speaking into a microphone at Church and Wellesley streets and saying that he is “coming out as a Christian.”

The Kentucky Supreme Court on Thursday ruled in favor of a Lexington business that refused to print a T-shirt for the city's pride festival in 2012.
Hands On Originals, a T-shirt printing business in Lexington, refused to print the shirt because one of the owners, Blaine Adamson, said the message conflicted with his religious beliefs.
The Kentucky Supreme Court ruled that the Lexington Human Rights Commission, which filed the complaint, lacked "statutory standing" to bring the suit.
A concurring Justice David C. Buckingham went further, saying the HRC "went beyond its charge of preventing discrimination in public accommodation and instead attempted to compel Hands On to engage in expression with which it disagreed."

Shigellosis, or shigella, is an intestinal infection caused when bacteria found in poop gets into your mouth.

A Durham Catholic school was closed Friday as a result of controversy surrounding an openly gay Durham City Council member who had been scheduled to speak at a school event.
Immaculata Catholic School in Durham sent a letter to parents on Thursday (February 7) explaining that the school would be closed on Friday as a number of groups had planned protests over a Black History Month event it planned to host, reports WRAL.
In a letter to parents Thursday, Fr. Christopher VanHaight, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, said that several groups were planning demonstrations at the school to voice opinions about Alston.
“As a pastor, I cannot place our Immaculata students into this contentious environment,” VanHaight said of the planned demonstrations.
