Another fan game with both Classic and Modern Sonic! You would think this is inspired by Generations, but it actually takes place after Forces (suddenly the name makes more sense). I wonder if we'll see any original zones from Sonic Forces here, later on? Well, for now we have a couple classic zones. So, there's not much to point out besides Green Hill and Emerald Hill right now, but there are some cutscenes that are okay! There's also a boss, I'd say it's... a little too easy. But keep in mind, this is just version 1 of a fan game that seems promising. Overall, this went by quick, and it could use some more polish, but it was interesting! Though I should say, Sonic After Forces is only for android, which is slightly odd. However, it seems like there are a lot of fan games that are also Android-only so, I'll be playing more android fan games! (Note: Actually, I noticed after I've recorded this demo another version of this game has came out, what timing! I'll definitely be checking that out but I decided to share this version anyway lol. Welcome to Sonic Classic Revisited, a fan game that you'll have to revisit... why? Because you probably won't beat it on your first try, haha. Anyway, what can you expect from this one here? First of all, we have a decent rendition of Angel Island Zone, a zone that has always been one of my favorites! Visually, it just stands out over the other tropical zones. Welp, the difficulty is up there (like I pointed out). The only way to cross some paths is to use the super peel-out, which allows you to walk on water. Yes, you'll need to take advantage of this mechanic in order to progress (which is easier said than done, not gonna lie). There are also blind jumps here and there, which only adds to the challenge. So, you might have some trouble if you decide to give this one a go - if you're new to Sonic I wouldn't recommend it. But hey, if you're up for challenging yourself, I won't stop you! Though the level design could definitely be improved, Classic Revisited seems like it has some potential otherwise. Sonic 5... Remake? Welp, this is a confusing fan game, not gonna lie. Obviously, the name is unusual. It's kinda funny, but a bold statement at the same time, calling your game Sonic 5. So, does it hold up? The game itself seems promising at first, with many characters to choose from and decent controls, but the level design isn't very thought-out... I got stuck and had to restart once. The visuals aren't all that polished either. Though for some reason, Not So Green Zone is an exception to every other zone in this game, with good quality level design and visuals. But the quality doesn't last, as this game seems to loop the same levels endlessly. I'll give Sonic 5 Remake some praise for having a couple decent levels and a boss (well, barely), but since it appears there's no real way to beat this fan game, I can't say I recommend it. But who knows, maybe I just glitched the game out somehow. Anyway, I found this to be okay, but not as good as I expected. Mighty and Shadow return in this fairly recent fan game, Sonic Daybreak! This one uses the GMate engine (credit goes to PVic there). There are 5 characters, and a good amount of zones. Well, it's enjoyable. The level design is alright, and the music and graphics are nice! But I'd say that there's still signs that this one is either early in development, or rushed. For one, the same boss is reused multiple times. Also, I didn't even get to complete the game, as it just kept crashing at the same section. I'm not sure if that's just a problem on my end or a common problem. Either way, there doesn't seem to be a way to pass it, which is a bummer. So yeah, what can I say? Sonic Daybreak is decent, but obviously could use some more polish. Feel free to let me know if there's a way for me to progress any further.
