I decided to revisit the mercury aluminum video that I did about a month ago. I got a lot of questions from you guys about it and I wanted to answer them.
There are for sure a lot of other cool things that I could try out, but for now, I'm done. I'll leave it up to some of you guys to investigate!
In this video, we will be making lithium hydroxide by reacting lithium metal with water!
I plan to use the lithium hydroxide to make some lithium based drugs (used to treat bipolar disorder) and to make lithium peroxide (reacts with CO2 and produces O2)
I plan to do an Q and A video, so if you have any questions you'd like me to address in the video, leave them in the comments.

We will be making aniline by reducing nitrobenzene that we made in a previous video!

When I started this channel, I worked in a lab. However, after I left that job I had to do all my chemistry and filming in my parents' garage. It was dangerous and sometimes scary, but lately, I've been feeling like I miss it. So, I decided to go back and make scary bromine (one of my favorite elements) in the garage and to see if I actually miss how things were.

Hello everyone! In this video, we will be brominating 1-pentanol using PBr3 that was made in a previous video.
I will use the product, bromopentane, in a future video to make my biting insect attracting chemical.
I am going to try and edit all of my 1080p stuff and dump it all as fast as I can. There are 15 of them and I hope to drop them all in the next month or so.

The strength of the indicator solution can be adjusted depending on your strength needs. I made a 0.05%wt solution because that is all I had. In general, a lot of indicator solutions are actually 0.5%wt (0.5g used).
This is just a quick video on how to make a phenolphthalein indicator solution. A few drops of this solution can be used as an indicator in acid base titrations or other pH dependent applications.

I've made benzaldehyde a few times before, but I think this is the easiest way to obtain it (just short of buying it directly).

Today I will be making and testing an insecticide called DDT, which has been internationally banned for agricultural and consumer use. It was agreed that it should only be used for controlling diseases like malaria. Some countries do still use it for agriculture though, against better judgement.

This is just some regular propane, and I'm gonna use it to do something I saw on the internet.
WARNING: Propane is extremely flammable and potentially explosive. The experiment was performed in a controlled environment. Don't recreate anything you see.
