Thank you for listening to my music, I hope you find something in it that connects with you, and helps you through your journey. I have moved on from the dark drama presented in this album, but I am still proud of the songs that I made during this time in my life.

Ariel Powell, 2011
In early 2021, we adopted a wonderful puppy, Daisy. We began walking her all throughout the town, exploring various routes. I quickly took to walking her through the Hope cemetery, mainly because it was away from the busy roads, and there’s nice grass. I would often listen to podcasts on our walks, but at some point I had a pretty irreverent show on, and I turned it off while walking in the graveyard, because it didn’t seem right to be consuming depravity while in a holy place. I started turning off my shows in the graveyard every time we entered, as a habit.
At the same time, I had started praying more regularly, due to the darkness that is shrouding our current world. I began to pray while walking through the graveyard, and over time I developed this short prayer. I now say it repeatedly throughout the day, regardless of where I am, but I refer to it as my “Graveyard Prayer”, because I developed it in that place.
It is my hope that you will all join me in saying this prayer, as an appeal to God to save our humanity.
Dear Lord
Save us from this evil
Wrap us in your warmth and love
Show us peace, beauty, joy, and mercy
Shine light into the darkness
"Truth is treason in the empire of lies."
-Dr. Ron Paul
Dive into the intense soundtrack to this dystopian experience in which we all find ourselves. This album follows a man through his struggle to survive, thrive, and maintain his humanity in a world ruled by evil and fear.

6:00 – Be La Brave
13:42 - Agents of Chaos
18:33 – Mountains of Bodies
29:12 – Alphabet Soup
34:41 - Remember Those Shows
40:32 – We the Remaining Humans
49:11 – Snow Jar
By early 2020, I had completed only one song toward this end, “Mountains of Bodies”. This is undoubtedly the most directly anti-war song on the album.
As the world changed, it quickly became clear to me that these wars were coming home, and the evil of our worldwide destruction was turning inward, upon us, and every worthwhile principle by which we try to live.
This inevitably changed my writing for the rest of the album.
I felt the paradigm shift. I felt the darkness arrive, and it awoke something within me. It awoke an angry, righteous, ferocious bravery, wherein I know who I am, and who I yearn to be.
So yes, this music turned out somewhat differently from my original vision; it’s more personal. In here, I rage against tyranny, then sing of loving, hunting and gardening, then reminisce about times past. I search for light in the dark, and once in a while I find some, and I bask in it.
