In this tutorial, we create a flexible wood plank material to satisfy all of our woody needs. And I know you have a LOT of woody needs, you dirty birdy.
The first video in our series will show us how to begin developing a Height map for this material. We will look at some techniques to create many rocks at once with relative ease!

In this video, we continue our scale material by using the height we created in the previous video and further expand upon our final outputs, such as Albedo, Normal and Roughness.

7:01 - Outputs
8:57 -Albedo
46:48 - Normal
51:23 - Roughness

In this video, we explore how we can begin to better unify our entire material by implementing contextual dirt and grunge, as well as adjusting the overall roughness of our material to fit a more cohesive look.

So this video is my own personal thoughts on a recent article published by Autodesk. The article was a comparison piece between Maya and Blender. Except, oddly enough there was no comparisons to be found?

In this episode, we discover the Specular map and the full range of control that it allows us to utilize for a material's specular reflection.

This video will cover the remaining output map for our material: Roughness! We will look at some ways I go about quickly developing a starting roughness map, and ways we could continue to build upon it by using surface information we already have in our graph.

In the first of a three-part series, we take a look at creating a semi-stylized, semi-realistic tomato pincushion material. We cover how to build the fabric from the ground up and how to achieve a fairly easy thread pattern to spread across our material.
Make sure to stay tuned for the final two tutorials in the series, where we learn how to make a cactus version of the pincushion, as well as a yarn ball to finalize our Sewing Fabrics series!
