I'm loving my 18" Stihl chainsaw and I'm going to have a bit of cutting coming up so I went and bought myself a new chain rather than just sharpening the original one. This way I should always have a spare chain to swap out. The beauty of this saw is the tool-less access to the chain and tensioning.

I signed up for a day of professional development which was out in Bathurst, west of the Blue Mountains west of Sydney - which is a fair drive.
Anyway, I decided to vlog along the way - maybe I needed someone to chat to. I talk about the drive, the towns I drive through, I complain about fuel prices and roadworks and I even drive through snow (which was completely unexpected)
A mix of talking head with dashcam footage so you can see the countryside where I'm driving.
I hope you enjoy it and thanks for coming along on the drive with me.

One week in as an Apple Watch newbie. What are my thoughts? Did I know how to do everything with it? What was setup like? Does it record my heart rate and sleep accurately?

As you'll discover through my videos, I reclaim a LOT. For my side fence I've found many of the steel posts buried in the undergrowth at the back of my block. Here i'm welding up a brace for the end post which will support the gate and the fence wire once re-done.
I used my Pop's old Arc welder, which is rated at 15 amps, but my circuits are only 10amp. so I tripped out my tradie power box a few times. When I tried lowering the welding amps, the stick just stuck heaps. It's not pretty, but it's strong and will do the job intended.
Thanks for watching. Damo

This was the 2nd gift for my wife's birthday. A bowl/platter for placing jewellery on on her dresser. It's made from a piece of our old outdoor steps which look like Sydney Bluegum, a very hard hardwood.
I've made this a long form video as I was talking to you (the camera) throughout, explaining what I was doing. That being said, my techniques have slipped a bit and are NOT the best or suggested way to turn bowls, so don't copy some of what I do. This is not a "how-to", it's me sharing what I did.
For those of you who like tool sounds, sped up or not, there is NO music this time.
I was also using a Woodfast faceplate chuck for the first time in years (20-odd). These were originally developed by Bruce Leadbeatter, my University turning lecturer who sadly passed away this year.
