MarkzMan and KOCtheGreat, two former #ICGJC members of the Rebel Alliance Media (RAM), repeatedly pressed their former camp (Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ) on the origin of the #Cross. In this video, we ask "why is the Cross a Christian symbol?" to discuss its origins of use within the Christian faith. The use of cruciforms is found among cultures on five different continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, North America & South America. Cruciforms predate recorded history, so we can't possibly know the *origin* of this geometric form. The formerly "Hebrew Israelite" men in RAM do not discern properly between 4th century or even 21st century artistic depictions of the Cross on the one hand, and how the Cross became a symbol for Christians, on the other. Is the cross a distinctly #pagan sign? The cruciform has different meanings across different cultures. Christian usage does not have to parallel pagan usage. There are Jewish and Old Testament roots to the sign of the cross, but ultimately use of the cruciform as a symbol of the faith was inspired by the fact that Christ was executed on a cross. RAM responded to the first video on the subject, but totally ignored the arguments presented. They showed their line of reasoning employs a questionable logic.
