This one is really nice. The camera doesn't do justice to the nice dark red and gold swirls.
Oh, and for future reference: KGP = Karat Gold Plated.
I think not. Not at these prices!

This quick painting of a bamboo is done using a Japanese sumi-e (ink painting) style.
The ink was made by grinding an ink stick on a stone then adding more water, or more ink, to get the grey tones.

The headlamp is just a half sphere of basswood. Cigarette is a piece of toothpick. Both glued on.
Using watercolours to colour the miner. Basically, as long as you use artists quality you'll be fine. If you use student or cheap watercolours then the colours might fade over time. Failing that the pigments are rubbish and the colours aren't as vibrant or won't mix to give you the right colour.
Next step is to coat it with Boiled Linseed Oil. Once it's dry I give it two coats of (any old) gloss varnish.

This video is just a quick look at Sealion: The Proposed German Invasion of England. It's from World at War magazine #52 (Feb-Mar 2017). Definitely worth the money. The game is excellent and the magazine articles about Sealion are really well done. Plenty of info and diagrams.
The game itself is a bit of a beast. This thing has land, sea and air combat. It's for two players, but I'm playing it solo (playing as both sides). One side will place boats (with combat), then planes, the opposition will react with their planes, you then do aerial combat, and bombings, then land movement and combat, more (night) naval movement, planes return to their bases then you do it all again for the opposition. Phew! And that's all just one turn!
If you want to see a play through of a turn/two, or the whole game, leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.
