Scrapy lets you use CSS or XPATH for the selectors, and here we look at how powerful XPATH can be when used with "contains" and "starts-with" inside the predicate to pick out parts of the page that we need to scrape.

A 'proof of concept' to insert book cover thumbnails into column one of an excel/csv sheet containing data scraped from an ebook/epub website
► xlsxwriter is used to insert the images
I use BeautifulSoup and Requests to get the following data :
► title
► img (Book Cover)
► link
Note the use of parse_qs and urlparse
query_str = (query.query) # utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=huxley
params = parse_qs(query_str) # {'utf8': ['✓'], 'q': ['huxley']}
