I leave the Fallon Rest area after some needed sleep and pedal to Fernley, Nevada where I spent the night at a Pilot before heading into Reno.
After arriving in Reno I’m invited to ride with 150 other riders through town. After two stops a makeshift slip-n-slide was setup and the night ended at the meetup spot downtown.

I ride north out of Memphis and camp in rainstorms. I find a hot meal in between the showers and warm myself up. I take the interstate into Missouri illegally because the Hickman Ferry is out of service due to flooding. I get caught in a severe storm outside of Wardell,Missouri and camp outside ofPoplar Bluff in the Mark Twain National Forest on the WolfCreek Bike Trail.

In this episode, I tour Jefferson City, get bit by a dog, wind up in a bar to get some disinfectant. I walk west and get a hotel in California. I wake up to an infected hand, and am hospitalized for surgery in Sedalia.
After a week of healing, I leave out and head to independence.

I wake up in Elk Prairie Campground and head north to the ‘Big Tree Wayside’ where I film the 286 ft high giant.
I then pedal north along the coast passing through the thick Redwood Forest and meet a couple on a roadside picnic area. They gave me a delicious peach and I thanked them.
I then pedal over bridges and construction areas till my arrival in Crescent City where I stop for some fast food.
I travel out of town and ran into the Florence Keller County Park where I camp for the night in a dense forest.
The next morning I get coffee in Smith River and arrive at the California/Oregon border where I take a break on the Chrissy Field Recreation Site beach.
After my break I pedal through Ft. Orford and Langlois on my way to Bandon, Oregon.

I take off from Harper's Ferry and head south through Shenandoah valley. The valley gains altitude heading south as the river is one of the few that flow north. I meet Mark Loving and he gives me a ride over the pass and buys me lunch. And could you believe it, I met Susan Loving, no relation to Mark, and she and her grandson Zakary gave me a ride out of the snowstorm path and bought me lunch and a room for two nights.
