I actually do have 2 friends who bought a passport by investing cold hard cash and I thought it was a genius idea that they did this. I myself would never buy one, I don’t fit the profile of people who would benefit from owning one just like I don’t fit the profile of people who would benefit from owning a hair pick - It’s a great product but I just don’t have a need for it so why would I buy it?

Determining personal and corporate tax residency is an important consideration for expats, as it can have a significant impact on their tax liability. Tax residency is determined based on a number of factors, such as the length of time spent in a country, the location of one's permanent home, and the location of one's economic and social ties.
Personal tax residency is determined based on the number of days an individual spends in a country, as well as their permanent home and economic ties. For example, if an individual spends more than 183 days in a country, they are considered a tax resident and are liable for taxes on their worldwide income. Additionally, if an individual has a permanent home in a country and their economic and social ties are primarily located there, they may be considered a tax resident even if they spend less than 183 days in the country.
Corporate tax residency, on the other hand, is determined based on the location of a company's management and control. This includes factors such as the location of the company's headquarters, the location of its board of directors meetings, and the location of its decision-making processes. A company is considered a tax resident of a country if its management and control is primarily located there.
Why this matters to expats is that they may become tax residents in multiple countries, which can create a complex tax situation. For example, if an expat is considered a tax resident in both their home country and the country they are residing in, they may be liable for taxes in both countries. This can lead to double taxation, which can be mitigated by tax treaties between countries or by claiming foreign tax credits on one's home country tax return.
Additionally, corporate tax residency also matters for expats because it can affect their business operations, as well as the taxes they pay. Being tax resident in a country with a more favorable tax system can help businesses to save on taxes and increase their profitability.

Many people say that this is a deal breaker but is it?
Let's explore the main excuses on this video - it's up to you to make up your mind if this is an issue or a non-issue long term. We're not hear to do fear mongering or feed you lies - we're here saying that this is our opinion on the issue and it's up to you to decide what reality is for the average person.
