Hacker takes Blender's Text, Console, and Info editors, and blends them into a single, ultra powerful IDE that allows anyone to create powerful Blender addons. We reinvented file browsing, search, code maps, templates and more just to make it faster and easier to make addons!
Hacker does more than combine and enhance these editors, it also has Intellisense powered Text Editor autofill with a custom built draw engine which can be used in combination with an editable autofill library. It also has a powerful file tabs system, advanced search, automated addon creation, template and code insertion system, screen split buttons, search and file history and more.

A macro hotkey is any hotkey you can press to perform multiple tasks. There's actually a quite easy way to create simple macros in Blender. The TLDW is to set one hotkey to activate with "Press" and set another hotkey to activate with "Release". I'll show you an example of how to do this int today's video featuring a macro (single button press) for adding a subsurf modifier to an object and applying smooth shading. You could use this technique to combine any to Blender actions though.
