In this episode, I'm checking off one of my bucket list projects. I have been wanting to build a guitar body for years. I'm calling this my Barncaster. This body is made from reclaimed wood from my Grandpas barn. In this episode, I go through the entire process of making the body, from using and duplicating templates, to finishing and assembling the guitar. It turned out great.

Here's an easy way to install plastic binding on a guitar body. This method uses only Acetone to adhere the binding. There is no need for any binding glue. The acetone partially melts the binding and as the binding dries it fuses itself to the wood. Its really easy to do.

Here's the next installment of building my first acoustic guitar. This time, I'm sharpening my chisels using a new technique I've been trying. Then I'll finish carving the back braces, as well as the top braces. This is the most tedious step so far but they turned out good.

I have made picture frames in the past. I"ve also done finger joints before, but I've never combined the 2. I think a finger joint frame looks great and is probably the strongest joint so far. I think this would be great for making frames that would hold heavy items. It would be a great frame for mirrors due to its strength.

I've been working at my guitar setup bench a bit more lately and I realized that its in need of some organization. I'm starting with my nut slotting files. I have this set from StewMac that I really like, but there are quite a few different sizes and it can be tough to keep them neat and tidy. I decided to make a holder for them using some black walnut and some 3D Printed inserts. The holder keeps the files nice and neat, and its easy to see the different sizes. This works and looks so much better. I'm glad I took some time to make this.
Get the .stl file for the inserts here. https://www.homebuiltworkshop.com/downloads/
